03/4/04 Back again
Dear all, I hope this letter finds you well. I'm sorry to have left you for so long, but the summer months have kept be busy and away from a computer. I have vocation for myself installing blinds, screen doors, awnings..etc with Tennille's father. My recreational time has been spent largely out of doors. On warmer days I enjoy going for a snorkel near catherine hill bay. Other days I enjoy going bicycling in the state park by the house. For those who have a fast connection and nothing to do, you can download these videos that tennille took of me riding. They are Wybung head and behind the dunes. Alas my time grows short so I must depart. I trust that this letter will be the last of its type on this site, and we can once again return to coversational engish.

12/15/03 A Car
I got a new car this past week. Well not a new car, its actually a very old car, but a new car for me. Its a beast of a 1981 Honda Accord. Its surprisingly nice for how old it is. Its a 5 speed with air conditioning and a cd player. Hopefully it doesn't die on me. Here are a few pictures of it.

Its taken me awhile to get used to shifting gears with my left hand. I can't even count the number of times I shifted from 4th the 3rd when I was trying to go to 5th. I haven't stalled it except in the driveway though, so that is good. Anyways, I'll try to update more frequently. At least until I leave for Queensland that is...
12/2/03 Finished
I finished my last exam today. I think I did decently on all of my exams, so I'm happy about that. I need to find a job now though. Oh yeah, I've discovered the joy of Frisbee golf. Tennille and I play in her yard. The downside is that Tennille threw the frisbee on the neighbors roof twice. I played against her dad and made a crazy shot that went all the way around the house and forced a playoff. On the second playoff hole I made a perfect approach shot from behind the van, then tossed it in for victory!!! Oh, and I played Tennille too, she beat me by three shots. Anyways, I recommend everyone buy two frisbees, find a friend, then make a course in their yard. Its great fun!

Well my birthday is now over. It was quite fun though. Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday greetings and/or got me a present. I did end up with some really cool stuff (mostly from Tennille). I'll put some pics of my birthday up in a couple days when James gives me my card reader back. I scanned these pictures in today. They are mostly taken at or around the beaches by Tennille's house. 11/18/03 Album Review
I recently bought an album from another Australian band. The band is Jet,and the album is call Get Born. They've played them extensively on Triple J and I think they are getting some airplay in the states too. They have what I would consider to be a classic garage rock type sound. They would definately be right at home in the late 70's music scene. Thats not a bad thing though. They manage to make their music sound fresh and exciting. The album has a good mix of rock songs and slower ballads. I give it
7.5/10.

11/10/03 Matrix Revolutions
I went on a "chaperoned" date with Tennille Saturday night. Actually her dad just took us to see the new Matrix movie. It was alright, but it was definately my least favorite of the three. They've turned it into a straight foward action movie. It doesn't have any of the originality of the first two movies. It does have some really cool visuals though. Its really funny, in the last scene if you look closely at the city in the background, the buildings on the left are the Sydney skyline, and the ones on the right are just an artist rendition made to match them. Anyways, out of 10 I'd give Matrix revolutions a 5.
11/07/03 I love Tennille
As of today Tennille and I have been going out for three months. (a new record for me!)It has gone by really quickly. To celbrate, Tennille is going to go camping with her friends and I'm going to do assignments. We are so cool! Oh yeah, has anyone seen the Matrix? Was it good? I'm thinking about spending some of my money to go see it soon. Anyways, Happy 3 months Tennille, I love you.
11/06/03 Busy Week
I've been so busy this week. I have 4 essays due this week and next as well as a number of tests and other smaller assignments. If anyone is interested in economics or the environment (probably just mikey), they can check out the essay I wrote. Other than that Tennille and I have been going out for three months, and we may be coming to Tennessee for a visit in July.
10/24/03 Album Review
I decided to review an album that I bought recently. It called Learn Yourself by The Beautiful Girls. I doubt that any of you guys would have heard of them because they're an Australian band (and a not very well known one at that). Their style is definately similar to Jack Johnson's. In fact they've done quite a bit of touring with Jack Johnson, G Love, and Ben Harper. They have a cool laid back type sound and I would definatley recommend it. I give it 8.5/10 You can check them out and buy the album at their 10/23/03 A tribute to Elliott Smith
For those of you who like Indie music I'm quite sad to report that Elliott Smith is dead. I heard it on the news this morning. They said it looked like a possible suicide (not surprisng). But yeah, he was a really talented artist and I would recommend that everyone check him out if you haven't listened to his stuff before. Either/Or is a great album to start with. Anyways, if you do have any of his cds you should pop it out and give it a good listen just to remember how cool he was.

I had the exciting experience last night of pushing a car for a kilometer down the F3 after dark. We ran out of fuel Just short of the station. It wouldn't have been too bad except the exit ramp was uphill and it nearly killed us. That car is really heavy! Spring break was good. Maybe this weekend I'll put up some pictures. Anyways, sorry for the lack of updates. I'll try to do better.

This past weekend was pretty fun. On saturday Tennille and I drove down to The Entrance, a town about 15 minutes from her house. The Entrance is where Lake Macquarie, and the other smaller lakes around it, connect to the ocean. It also happens to be "The Pelican capital of Australia". Anyways, we had a fun time walking around there. The scary thing this weekend, was that I killed not one, but two, White Tailed spiders in Tennille's kitchen. One of them was really big! Hopefully I don't find any more scary critters lurking around the house. I scanned some photos that Tennille took on her camera. You can check them out below.

Today was a fun day. I'm staying at my girlfriends house on the central coast. She had about 8 friends come up from Sydney. We went to the beach for most of the afternoon. I actually got in and swam even though the water is still really cold. The free switchfoot concert was also tonight. We managed to get to Newcastle Entertainment Centre without getting lost so that was good. It was super crowded though and we didn't think we could get in. But then as we were standing by the door one of the ushers came and said they could take 16 people so we got to go in. It turns out that we actually had better seats than we would have if we'd gotten there early. Anyways, switchfoot is really good live (better than their cd I think) and I would recommend that anyone who has a chance should go see them. My only complaint was that their set was too short, but they are playing again tommorrow so we might go again. Anyways, that's all that's going on here.

Well my weekend was pretty good. Saturday night, we went over to my friend James' house and watched a movie. Then sunday I went with Tennille and her family to the beach. Sunday night my friend James had a "classy" party at his house. We had wine, cheese, a fancy bread, fruit, and chocolate fondue. After we ate, we played a game of Acquire. I could have won except Lynelle did a crazy move right at the start and made herself a ton of cash. Anyways, The Eels are playing in Sydney this month, and I might try to see if I can afforrd to go. For now though, I'm just going to get some lunch.

I have found time to update! Actually I have plenty of spare time, but I just never get around to updating. Life here is good, but a little slow at the moment. I'm still with Tennille and that is good. Next month Switchfoot is having a free concert in Newcastle and I'm going to try and go since Brandon says they are good. Anyways, everyone feel free to write me an email, it would make my life considerbly more exciting.

Hmm another update I suppose. Though I don't really have anything to say. Classes are going alright but I wish it was summer. My friends James and Nick got a house of campus. It is small but it is pretty nice. This saturday they are having a house warming party. Anyways, I'm actually supposed to be doing an assignment right now so I guess I'll get back to that.

Sorry about the big lack of updates. I just really haven't had the time. Lets see here...I had a fun week in florida. After that I went to warren's b-day party and went and saw american wedding with some people. Congratulations to Angie and renee for being two really cool people (and for having an excellent emu strut). Monday morning I flew out to australia. It was kind of dumb because air canada left one of my bags in los angeles and I had to wait several day to get it. Other than that though, my flight was pretty good. We had a stop over in hawaii and a bunch of people got off and I had a whole row to myself for the 10 hour flight to sydney. Now I'm here and registered for school. I'm taking a double major in managment and marketing. Most of my classes this semester are pretty easy. I have this one called intro to law though and it is going to be really tough. I know absolutely nothing about the australian legal system. The lecturer is pretty tough too. Oh yeah, I also have a girlfriend! The lovely Tennille Dobson. Anyways, its friday here and this weekend we are going down to sydney to visit some of her friends. I hope everyone is having a good time back in the USA. Feel free to email me anytime!

Yesterday a group of us went up to jack's river and jumped off the waterfall there. It was pretty fun. We also saw a HUGE black bear. I'm not sure, but I think it might have been Smokey the Grammar bear. So you'd better watch out Tamara!! Today I'm just cleaning my room and doing laundry. I've got to decide what I want to take with me to Australia and what should stay here. Anyways, I guess I'd better get back to it.

Student Visas are alot harder to get than they should be. I've been working on mine for about a month now, and still no success. I'm required to get a medical examination and a chest X-ray before they will give me a visa, but so far they haven't provided me with the proper forms for the radiologist and the doctor to fill out. If I don't get my student visa, I will be quite unhappy. I do however have a backup plan. If I can't get a student visa, I will get a tourist visa and go to australia for 3 weeks or a month. Then I will come back and work either here or (hopefully) in florida. Then I will try again in January to get my visa. That would be a lot of extra trouble though, so hopefully everything works out now.

I really haven't accomplished very much so far. I did manage to fall in the duck pond today though. I figure that is quite an accomplishment. I tell you those ducks are full of trickery! I know they are causing all this rain so that they can take over Collegedale. Anyways, I think I've stayed up late enough, so I'm going to bed....Oh yeah,Prufrock is cool.

Well my weekend has been quite good. Saturday I ate breakfast with my dad at cracker barrel, and then he left for florida. After that I slept most of the afternoon. In the evening I went out to a movie and then chris came over and played video games. Today wasn't too bad either. I got up and mowed grass. After that I went to the mall and got some new summer clothes, so that was good. Anyways, now I'm just relaxing at home. Oh yeah, please make use of the comment box, it was a pain to put up there.

Rolling rolling rolling, keep those updates rolling...well yeah another update, isn't this great? the cookout was good last night, but we had to wait for it to stop raining, so I was pretty hungry by the time we got around to eating. The big news today is that I sold my car!! Who would buy my car you ask? well my dad! He wanted an extra car for driving around town, and I needed to sell mine so it worked out quite well. Unfortunately I have to drive the van for my last month here, but thats ok. Anyways, I'm about ready for an afternoon nap.

Well my day has had its goods and bads. All in all it was mostly good though. I got up and went to church and then my mom made me a really big lunch with lasagne (my favorite!) and corn on the cob and green beans and stuff. It was great! After that I got to talk to Tennille for a little while and that was also good. Then my friend chris and I went out to buy some video games and pick up a package he had at the post office. Unfortunately the post office was closed and we couldn't find the video game store we were looking for. Then around 9 we went bowling. That was good because I won!! I only won though because the machine messed up brandon's score. After that we went to see 28 days later but it was sold out, so that really sucked. Now I'm home and I think I'm ready for bed.

I suppose I should try to keep in the habit of updating this site every once in awhile. My week has been fairly uneventful so far. I did have a flat tire today, but fortunately it was in my driveway so it wasn't too big of a deal. Hmm, what else is interesting. 4th of july is coming up, and I get a 3 day weekend and my dad is coming up from florida, so that should be fun. Other than that life is boring, so I guess I'll go now.

Wow I haven't updated in a long time. Does anyone even come here anymore? Probably not...Oh well. The weekend was pretty good. It was cliff's birthday saturday and he was nice enough to invite people over for food. It was quite good, I hadn't eaten that much in awhile. Sunday I spent all day reading my new Harry Potter book. Yes, oh yes, 870 pages of imaginative writing. I don't care if they are childrens books I like them. Hmm what else to talk about...oh yeah blarg on tamara for preferring to eat mashed potatos than burn me a cd. Oh yeah I'm also unhappy because I will miss the ben folds concert in atlanta this september. Oh well, I hate to end on a bad note so let me think of something good.....hmmm...oh yeah I only have 3 more weeks of work!! yay!

yes, oh yes kids, its time for another update...My weekend has been pretty average. I would have to say the highlight would be sharayah attempting to drink straight out of the drink machine at subway. To bad none of it went into her mouth. I'm sure it had seemed like a good idea at the time though. Other than that interesting moment I've spent most of my time sitting around my house being bored. Oh yeah, and if tamara tries to tell anyone that I lost the hacky sack, it is a lie. I was talking to Neal and she threw it across the parking lot, then about half an hour later while we were at subway (shortly before the drink machine incident) she says, "you know I threw the hacky sack at you, right?". Of course I had no idea and therefore I can't possibly be held responsible. So ha!

I bet you weren't expecting another update so soon. But here one is anyways. I sure was tired today. I got home from work and I was going to lay down for about 30 minutes, but the next thing I knew it was six hours later. I guess thats what happens when you try to go all week with 3 hours of sleep a night. I uploaded a few more pics. There's nothing too exciting in there, but if you're bored it might just occupy a bit of your time. Anyways, all this sleeping and updating websites has made me starving so I'm off to find some food!

My sister brought home a kitten from somewhere, and he has been making life around our house alot more fun. He is really playful. Unfortunately we can't keep him, so if anyone wants him let me know. As you can see
he's taken on my tendancy to eat messily. Other than that though, he is a great kitten. Oh yeah, my stupid car broke down today, hopefully it won't cost too much to fix it.

I just got back from seeing the matrix. It was alot different than I expected. I think I need to watch in a couple more times to fully understand it. I do like how they branched out the story so its not just humans and machines. Oh yeah, the fight scenes were cool too.

I had a pretty good weekend. saturday night was the LAN party at warren's. it was alright, but I was really sleepy. We did get to watch Aristocats though. I must say that horse is great source of entertainment. Sunday my friend Kelli got married. It was a really nice wedding. Too bad she is moving to Nebraska now. I can't think of a single reason anyone would want to live in Nebraska, but I suppose as long as its there somone should live in it. Anyways, I'm sleepy so I think I'll take me a nap.

Well last night was the much anticipated Ozma concert. It was actually even better than I hoped it would be. I made a short video of our trip (sorry the sound sucks while they were playing...all that noise was too much for my camera's little microphone) I will try and get some still shots up at a later date. the funniest thing was that I got my picture taken with star and some random homeless guy that was wandering around outside the club it was great! anyways, here's the video. I really am bad at updating my site, but that just makes you appreciate it more when I do, right? Well maybe not, but oh well, another update, here it goes...
This past weekend was fun. Saturday we went and hung out at imagination station in the afternoon. It was great because two really funny things happened right in a row. Firstly Brent got shanked rather well by Tristan, and then while we were laughing about it, Cliff got hit in the head with a softball! It was very funny. Saturday night we went to the Of Much Avail concert. They are pretty cool. Also I managed to have time to take pictures of Chris and Peter getting their hair done. So far this week has been pretty boring, but the weekend is coming, and this Sunday is Ozma. I really can't wait. Anyways, enough update for one day. I don't want to spoil you all.

Because Tristan is crying that he has nothing to look at on the internet, I've decided to update my site. My week was pretty boring, except for Brandon's birthday party Wenesday night. That was pretty fun. I actually won game of bowling for the first time in a very long time. I went over to the apartment for awhile tonight. It was pretty funny becuase we depantsed mikey. Anyways, tommorrow we were talking about doing funny stuff and taking pics of it, so hopefully I'll have something interesting to post.

Well it has been a pretty good weekend. yesterday it was really nice out, and a whole group of us went to the greenway in collgedale to hang out. I bought a new pair of rollerblades, and I enjoyed taking them out for a test run. After that I went to the C.A. gymnastics show, where I'm happy to report I completely obliterated the competition in the headstanding contest, winning myself a free t-shirt. And despite what Tamara might say, I won it fair and square. Anyways, today I've spent alot of money. I bought myself a ticket to Australia, and a ticket to Tampa to see my dad over memorial day weekend. For those of you all in TN who want to spend time with me. you have until August the 4th. I think thats like a 120 something days. Anyways, I'm trying to get into shape, so I think I will go running now.

I went out to eat yesterday at famous dave's. I started to tell my squirrel story, but I didn't have time to finish it, so that was unfortunate. I also managed to spill my drink on 4 people, which takes a remarkable amount of clumsiness. Then continuing with the clumsy theme, I squished my finger really good at work today and made it bleed. So yeah, that is my life... exciting huh? Plans are being made to see Ozma this month...it should be good. Anyways, I'm calling it a night. Tommorrow is Friday!!

Well I just got off of work, and I might be quitting UPS. The people at my afternoon job were trying to convince me to go full time there. I told them I would do it for $11/hr, which would be a pretty nice raise. I don't know if they are going to go for that though seeing as they can probably hire someone for $8/hr. I don't really care though. If I get it, then great, and if not I'm not losing out on anything. It would be nice not to have to get up at 3 a.m. everyday and not get off of work until 9 p.m. Anyways, other than that not much is new. We went rollerblading again yesterday, this time at the greenway in Collegedale. No one fell though, so I don't have any funny videos. Oh well, I'm out of here

An update? you want an update huh? Ha ha ha I control the updates, and I suppose I will let you have one...Um yeah, seriously I am stricken with a disorder known as laziness which prevents me from doing things like updating this site. But yeah, I've done some fun stuff lately. Friday night I went camping up at pocket wilderness. At first it was rainy, but then it cleared up, and we went into this old mine and shot off many, many fireworks. It was great! Hmm, besides that, not much is going on. My mom and sister are currently having a good time in florida, but I am excluded from that due to work obligations. Oh yeah, congratulations to Stephanie for being the first famous person I know! I was quite surprised to see her on my aol today screen. oh yes, and finally, many thanks to tennille for the lovely (and comfortable) pajama pants! Anyways, savour this update, treasure it, hold it close to you. Because unless they find a cure for laziness it may be another month before I update again. But that just makes you want it more doesn't it?

I'm getting really bad about updating this site. I guess maybe its because I have nothing of interest to write about. I'm currently waiting with great expectation for a nice new pair of pajama pants that Tennille has promised to sew for me. Hmm, other than that, work is work. weekends are pretty good, and my valentines day was uneventful. But yes, if something exciting ever does happen to me, you will be the first to know.

Wow, I haven't updated my site in awhile. I haven't really done anything of interest. Saturday night was senior night. They did a good really good job, riverdance and the austin powers thing were both really good. The best moment of course was when Brian and I got to take Marvin the mascot out on stage. It was a little unexpected, but fun just the same. I took some video, but it sucks because STEPHANIE wouldn't let me sit in Chris' seat even though he was at home sleeping. Oh well. Now the weekend is over. They never last long enough. But I guess I need to get back to earning money. Anyways, I'm off to bed.

I didn't have to go in to UPS today because we were really light and they were going to cut out my routes. That was good though I got to stay home and talk to Tennille a little longer than usual. After that I played some counterstrike, and got my first winning record...27-17 on Iceworld woohoo! Anyways, I wrote an update yesterday, but I guess it didn't save because it's not here today. so I will try to remember what I said. I think I mentioned that it was super nice out yesterday, and I drove up to ocoee. It was really pretty up there, but a little brown because all of the leaves are gone. I took a short clip. Its nothing special, but if you're bored you can download it. anyways, I'm out of here. Hopefully it will save this time.

I ate at the CK for breakfast this morning. I'd forgotten how good their biscuits and gravy are. I think I could eat there every morning and not get tired of it. As usual nothing interesting is going on in my life but oh well. One of my friends from avondale called me Sunday morning, and that was a nice surprise. but yeah, other than that everything has been normal.

We had Turtle Fest 2K3 last night. It was great. We watched TMNT 1 and 2. I have to say that the first one is a far superiour movie. It may be though that I was just too sleepy during the second one to enjoy it as much. Thanks to Stephanie for letting us use her house and large tv. I guess it almost makes up for her stealing my background color for her website. Apparently I was supposed to take Chris and Mikey home last night, but no one told me, so I accidentally ditched them. Fortunately Stephanie let them borrow her car to get home, otherwise they would have been walking. hmmm, yeah, my mom and sister are making my favorite meal...lasagne! Its really funny. When I was little I didn't like lasagne, but I liked garfield comics, and lasagne was his favorite food. So I started pretending I was garfield, and now it is my favorite food too. Oh the power of comics. Anyone that hasn't read Calvin and Hobbes should check them out. They are super great. I have lots of books of them if anybody wants to borrow one. Anyways, I'm out of here.

I just read on ben folds website that Ben Folds, Ben Lee, and Ben Kweller, will be recording some songs together, and then going on an all Ben's tour. unfortunately this tour is only going to be in Australia and Japan. They are actually going to Newcastle! I sooo wish I was in australia right now so that I could see them. Newcastle is very close, and that would be an awesome concert. Oh well, I guess its better for me not to waste money on concerts. Anyways, I'm off to vespers.

My UPS driver lives on signal mountain and he said it was -10 F(-24 C) when he left his house this morning. That is the coldest I can ever remember it being in Tennesse. fortunately next winter I will be in Australia, where it will be summer, then I will be able to laugh at everyone who is freezing to death back here.

Wow it is freezing. One of my UPS drivers told me it was 0 degrees (-18 celsius) at his house this morning. It is 14 (-10 c) outside right now. I think I'm ready for spring now. I really need to go buy me a warm hat. I don't own any, and my ears felt like they were going to fall of from cold today. Anyways, I think I'll go hibernate until summer or at least until morning.

Last night was pretty fun. A big group of us went out to eat at Lupi's downtown. For some excitment I brought my trusty sticky dart gun along, that I got for my birthday. It was pretty popular, because everyone had someone they wanted to shoot. It was really funny because I tried to get a video of me shooting tamara scott with it, but she blocked it, then while she was bragging about how she blocked it, I shot her in the nose. It was great! If you want to see it clik here dart. Anyways, I have to get up at 2:00 a.m. tommorrow, because all of our trucks that got delayed by the snow last week will be here. Its going to be a really long day. Oh well, at least I'll make some pretty good money. Now I'm off to watch the rest of the Titans game.

Brrrr, it is freezing this morning. My themometer says its 12 degrees (-18 Celsius). Most of the snow melted yesterday, but there is still a dusting over my yard. I can't belive I actually woke up early enough to go to third service at church today, that never happens. Also we are going to macaroni grill for lunch today, and I'm excited about that. Oh yeah, I read they are renewing the Simpsons through 2005. Excellent....MMMMMM Simpsons.....Alright man! yeah my biscuits are done, so I'm out of here.

Well it did end up snowing, though not very much. It was enough for me to get out of work thursday afternoon though, so I'm not complaining. I've been pretty busy working on this site the last couple of days. The photos section is redone, and I'm planning on adding several more albums. I've also added a page about my family, though its not complete (because it doesn't have anything about my cats). Anyways, I have much to do today, so I'm out of here.

Everyone is saying that it is supposed to snow this week. It certainly feels like it could snow. I about froze going into work this morning. There's a chance that I may get to go skiing this weekend. I hope I do, it would be a lot of fun. I think there's a better chance that I will go sometime next month though. I also think I'm getting sick. I woke up with a sore throat yesterday, and my nose has been runny all day today. If someone had a corny sense of humor (like me) they could ask me..."is your nose running?" and I would say "yeah" then they could say, "well you better catch it before it gets away!" Ha ha! that was pretty dumb. Anyways, maybe I should get some sleep.

Well my weekend was pretty good, though nothing terribly exciting happened. I got some nice new clothes at structure, because I accidentally ruined some of mine by washing them with a crayon in the pocket of one of my pairs of pants. Yesterday we had another christmas dinner, because my stepbrother just got back from a month in cambodia and thailand, and it my parents wanted him to have a christmas too. I certainly didn't mind, because I always enjoy eating good food. Though, I did have to miss going to see Just Married with some of my friends, which is unfortunate, but I guess I didn't really need to spend money on a movie anyways. Well, thats about it, I guess its about time to head off to work anyways.

I got called back into UPS this week, so now my christmas holidays are officially over. I think some people there are kind of annoyed at me though, becasue alot of them have worked there alot longer than me, and they still haven't gone back to their regular jobs, but oh well, I'm just glad to have my regular work back. The downside to all this is that I now have to try and get some sleep at night, so I won't be able to get as much work done on this page as I would like. Tommorrow is Friday though, so maybe I can get alot done over the weekend. Anyways, I'm out of here.

I've gotten a whole new section up. You can find it by clicking on the pic here on the main page. I'm planning on having that new page be the main part of my site, but it will take some time. Cascading stylesheets are great. I'm still not very good at them, but I'm definately getting better! Anyways back to work...
