Great day today! Just on the border of being too cold to enjoy. The north winds kept me from flying more but, I did get in 4 flights and didn't crash :O) Seemed like everyone had a good time. Chris Lay was the only one that went home with a broken plane. He was doing great on the trainer cord but, a problem on final caused him to leave with a broken bird. Sorry Chris, "you fly, you crash, it goes with the hobby" we all learn how to repair.
Tim Treneff and Alex spent the day working. Do they do this to make the rest of us feel guilty? We Should! Jeff Cowan stopped flying and helped them work on the mower.
Tim Morris flew his remake of a Great Planes Texan that he crashed. He replaced the damaged wing with the wing from a trainer and, stuffed a OS 61 in the front. First flight was a little squirrelly, way too much elevator. Second flight was great, realistic rolls and slick wheel landings.
Lee Simmons brought his Lanier Stinger with Zenoah G38. Lee showed us how dead stick landings should be done (several times ;O) Just minor engine tuning.
Jimmy Gibson greased in some great landings. Solo time.......
David Broach had a good day despite some fuel leaks that need to be attended too. Try some K2R spot-lifter to dry out that balsa.
Jeff Milam's Ultra Stick 40 got a new OS 46 FX Max hanging on the firewall. Great power! Jeff showed us just how strong those Ultra Stick wigs are, he really wrung it out on his last flight.......
Jeff Cowan and Porkey (Ricky Gateley) flew their Magics....... This will be Porkey's favorite, believe me this plane was made for him!
I've rattled on too long. I've got to do the K2R on mine too -- fuel line broke :O(
