You are invited to join with us in a

Roman Saturnalia !!!

The theme of this years ceremony at Fairy Glen is a reenactment of the ancient Roman ceremony of the Saturnalia. Please bring fruits, breads and cheeses, drums, Roman decorations for your camps, and traditional Roman garb to wear throughout the weekend. We must after all get ourselves “in the mood”!!!

Event Registration

FRIDAY – Arrival and setup. Opening Ceremony and Dedication of the Hearth Fire at Dusk. Dinner will be served.

After dinner social fire with shared songs and stories. Late night Drum Circle and Dancing.

SATURDAY – Workshops and discussions going on throughout the day .

If you'd like to do a workshop, lead a discussion group or supervise a children's activity, please let us know! More workshops will be announced closer to the event via email.

Main Ritual for this weekend will be a Saturnalia Celebration of Release and Renewal with a good dose of Love and Laughter.

Feast Provided.

Evening Saturnalia Ritual will be followed by a Gift Exchange*, drumming, dancing and celebration till dawn.

Don't forget your contributions for the Community Kitchen and Drum Circle Altar.

SUNDAY – Light Breakfast, Afternoon Healing Ritual and

Closing of the Hearth.

VENDORS There is no initial fee for vending, however, you are encouraged to donate at the end of the festival if you do well. First come first serve space available. A small donation ($10) will be requested if power is needed for your vending booth to cover costs. Call or Email for more information.


WHAT TO BRING:
Fresh Fruits, Juices, Sweet Treats, Bottled Water, Breads, side dishes for use in the Kitchen and at Community Altars. Entrees, side items and dessert will be provided Friday and Saturday evenings, but if you have a special treat you'd like to share it is always welcomed! If you plan to participate in the Gift Exchange, please bring a wrapped gift suitable for anyone.

* How Does a Gift Exchange Work: Each person who participates will be given a number. When the number is called, the person holding the number has the option of choosing a wrapped gift or "stealing" the already unwrapped gift of someone else. This continues through 3 rounds of play. At the end of the third round, you keep the gift you have. If you don't have a gift you will be allowed to choose one from the remaining unopened ones.

WHAT ELSE TO BRING:

Drums and other musical instruments, feast gear (plates, bowls etc.) enough cool fun festival clothes to wear for the entire weekend, Cold Weather camping gear, towels, soap and shampoo for the on site showers if you're brave (outdoor), any special medications you require AND earplugs if noise bothers you. There will be some heated indoor " pagan pile Floor space" available. Extra tarps, tent heaters, and wood are always appreciated!

A SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS:
Although we welcome our children to our festival weekend, NOT ALL GATHERING EVENTS ARE SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. There will be adult activities and workshops planned as well. Please respect your children enough not to put them in an uncomfortable situation. Children are your responsibility and liability. Any parent who is not providing appropriate supervision for their children will be escorted from the property with no refund and forfeits all eligibility for future gatherings.

**SPECIAL NOTE** No family will be charged over $70.00 if pre-registered by December 15, 2002 (immediate blood family members only please.) This donation covers site maintenance, food and festive events.
