We decided to do this project because it is a current issue in the news. Every day something is mentioned in the news about the current relationship between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
Their relationship is continually covered in all types of the mass media. They have been featured in many magazines, news broadcasts, and radio discussions.
Through the ongoing coverage of their relationship, people throughout the world have been able to keep up with the constant changes in their relationship.

September 14th, 2003, was to be the day for the superstar wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. However, it has been called off, or should we say postponed. The wedding did not occur for a variety of reasons according to sources. Ben and Jen say it was mainly because their privacy was ruined by the media. Other sources attribute the breakup to Ben's excessive gambling habits and also to his mother not agreeing to the engagement. The two have reportedly reconciled and decided to get back together, but the question still stands that only time can answer . . . will they last?
"I think the whole coverage was cheesy. I think they will eventually get tired of one another because they have too much going on. Neither one was really ready to settle down. "I wanted them to stay together forever. I thought their relationship would last." These comments are from Travis, a freshman with an undecided major.
"I never understood why he wanted to be with her. They're obviously from two different worlds." These comments are from Melissa, a sophomore education major.
