LETHAL ATTITUDE WRESTLING DYERSBURG, TN
August 16th, 2003
History was made last night in the Dyersburg Entertainment Center. Before
I post what happened last night, I want to say this. I will never post a
rumor, unless I clearly point it out to be a rumor and that it might be
false and then I probably would not post it anyway. This past week, I
could have posted 30 different rumors and I am betting that all but two or
three of them are totally false. I don't know if somebody is putting out
false rumors on purpose or not but some of them have been wild. I have
posted my home telephone number in this email group enough that anybody
that really wanted it, already has it. Second, if I can not say something
positive about a wrestler, then I am not going to say anything at
all. That does not mean that I will not give heels any heat. Especially
that &#$*&#$* Jason "Superman" Reed. Maybe at one time he was near
"Greatness" but that was months ago and he sure is not near "Greatest" at
this time. Finally, I don't really want to know all of the business end of
Indy wrestling in this area. Oh, I think some of it is interesting but if
I didn't know, I would still be a loyal fan. Finally, I honestly don't
care who goes to bed with whom. I don't care if they drink or don't
drink. I go to wrestling matches to be entertained. What a wrestler does
on his own time is his business. Yes, I am very aware that some tag teams
that appear to be great friends don't like each other out of the ring and
some that appear to hate each other are great friends out of the
ring. With that said, here is what happened last night:
The show started with Joe Cool coming to the ring without music. Then
Sandra Walker came to the ring with mic in hand of Joe gave her the mic, I
am not sure. She got in the ring and then called out: Dale Walker, Brian
Thompson, Jeff Dell and the MACW Commissioner. Sandra then recounted some
history. She said that their (Walker's) promotion started out with DCW,
then MCW, then WOWF, than MACW and tonight there was another change. With
that they pulled a rope and the big L.A.W. banner fell down in front of the
American Flag Banner. She announced that they had officially merged with
L.A.W and that they were no longer MACW. She called out Jason "Superman"
Reed, The Golden Boy (Greg Anthony) and Derrick King came down the steps
and joined them in the ring. She went on to announce that LAW has a
television show on Jonesboro TV, channel 8. She thought that you could
pick it up in Dyersburg with a good antenna. She went on to urge all the
fans to call Dyersburg Cable Vision and get the LAW TV Show on a good time
of night. This went on some more and we found out that the announcers,
referee's etc. also merged and we had four new LAW referee's working
tonight. If I did not lose count there was a total of six referee for the
matches tonight. More about one of them in the following results. Since
Jason was the former MACW champ, he was automatically in the main event
tonight. There would be a primarily match between DK and TGB. The winner
would then wrestler Jason in the main event and the winner of that match
would get a match at the 8/30 TV Taping show for the LAW Heavy Weight
Championship. ON August 29th in Kennett Missouri, at the first year
anniversary show, Sir Tim Grind would take on Flex for the LAW title. Mr
Timothy Grind is the current LAW Champ. The winner of that match would
then take on the winner of the tonights main event. It seems to me that
all MACW titles were gone. Later in the night PKO Pokerface did come out
with the MACW tag belts but nothing was really said about them. About this
time, Mr Ken Wayne came down the steps and got in the ring. I had sure
hoped that he had retired and got out of the business some time ago but he
showed last night. I will say this as clear as I can, Key Wayne was and
probably is still a good wrestler. I just don't like him, Period. He broke
the wrestling code in my book about ten years ago. He was in full heel mode
tonight. He demanded that he get the title shot. That he was the better
wrestler etc. and more etc. Finally the big meeting in the ring was over
and we could get to wrestling. I was asked by several people for my
opinion of the show last night after it was over. I will say this also as
clear as I can; It was a good solid show. The fans more then got their
money's worth. There were some major surprises. Three or four tables of
LAW merchandise was interesting. There were a couple of very minor
problems. There was not a match of the year but was not a bad match
either. I think the tag belts and the old MACW TV title needs to be
cleared up. I sure did enjoy the show and waiting for next week to
come. I think it is going to take a while for the old fans to adjust to
the new promotion. I have made it very clear for a very long time, that I
totally enjoy watching Derrick King in the ring wrestle. During the past
year, I have come to know and really enjoy watching more of the old MACW
wrestler work and I look forward to seeing them again. DK, Alan Steel and
SirMo still are firmly tied for number one on my list of favorite Indy
wresters in this area. Looks like USA wrestling is going to move their TV
tapings to Sunday so maybe we will get to see Alan Steel in action again in
the greater Memphis area on Saturday nights. I sure hope so. They were
using the LAW ring for this show. They were also using the LAW security ropes
also. I hope they change the security ropes before next week. The
LAW security ropes are too high and interfere in seeing the match. They had
added three or four LAW security people around the ring in addition to the
security people that had been working there. I don't know who is paying
the payrole but I want to see these LAW security people take care of some
of the more rowdy fans at the Entertainment Center. The one sitting by me
jumped back into the fan section when a wrestler got tossed out of the
floor on our side of the ring. It was amusing to watch.
Opening Match
Alex Krisis & Andrew Donavan vs Fabulous Rocker & Jeremy Blaze
The
referee for this match was LAW's Sherina. First time I have saw a female
referee work in this area as just a plain old referee. Sandra has worked a
few maches in as a "Special" referee. Tasha might have also. Also the first
time that I have saw a referee of any sex wearing a pair of glasses in the
ring. She did a fair job but if she is going to referee Pro Wrestling
matches she needs to at least put her hands between the wrestlers in the
corner and make some effort to break them out. I don't think that long
distance voice commands are going to work. This was the second or third
time that I have watched Andrew Donavan work and he does look good in the
ring. Besides that I know almost nothing about him. I think he is
somebody to keep an eye on. It was good seeing Rocker and Blaze in
action. Whow, Rocker and Blaze were both doing some really deep, hard arm
drags. After a bit, Alex's size started to pay off. The tide started to turn.
Alex and Blaze were fighting outside the ring. Andrew was able to
pin Rocker with both of his feet on the send ring rope. Even with glasses
on the referee failed to see this and made the three count. This was a
fast paced and interesting first match. I have always enjoyed watching
Blaze and Rocker in action. They work good together as a tag team.
2nd Match
Psycho & James Arnez /w Nurse J & Kayte vs Dynamite Seth Knight & Chris
Fury
This was a strange match because Psycho was been wrestling somewhat
as a face and fan favorite but not tonight. The much larger team of Psycho
and Arnez were in control early in the match. Chris and Stef did work as a
team and they were able to execute a double Tiger Bomb on the big
Psycho. Seth got in his Sour Face" on Psycho and the young team of Chris
Fury and Seth Knight started to turn the tide. About this time Kayte
called Nurse J over and gave her some advice to pass on. Psycho caught
Knight with a hard DDT but only got a two count. Seth was left draped on
the ropes and I saw Kayte jump up and hit him in the head. Nurse J caught
Kayte and put her back in the corner. Psycho was able to lock on the
Straight Jacket but Chris Fury kicked him in the head to break it up. A
few some seconds and Seth Knight would have been out. The Straight Jacket
is a very dangerous hold and should be outlawed. I hope that whoever is
the Commissar now will take a long look at it. You just can not trust
Psycho to let go of that hold at the right time. After both tagged, James
was able to lock on a Camel Clutch on Seth. Finally Seth was able to come
around with his Flying Bulldog. This allowed him to finally made the
tag. Chris was going good. Seth was tagged back in. With a Flying Press
off the top turnbuckle and a hand full of tights Seth got the pin and the
three count. Face or heel , I am a Psycho Fan and I love Kayte. (Kayte is
NOT a doll. Kayte is a spirt. She has been around for hundreds of
years. Just happens, that at the current time to help Psycho she has take
the form of a doll, but as a spirt she can take any form she wants. We have
communicated over the years many times. She has helped others and will
continue to help others when or if Psycho does not need her help in the
future. I have no problem hearing her talk. If I get sick I sure hope that
Nurse J and Kayte will come take care of me.)
3rd Match
Brian Knoxx vs Brian Bump
First time that I got to see Knoxx and I hope it
is the last time. He insisted that the referee pull his robe off or he
would not wrestle. I wonder which has more fleas, Reggie B Fine's coat or
Knoxx's robe. I think it might be a tie. The fans were still strongly
behind Bump in this match. This was a slow match with the big heavyweights.
In the end Bump was able to hit a Face Buster and get the pin.
4th Match
Derrick King Vs The Golden Boy (Greg Anthony)
The winner of this match
went on the main event tonight. Again, much to my surprise the fans were
about equally split in this match. DK had as many fans as TGB had. This
was a classic match. The experience of DK vs the youth, quickness and
desire of TGB. The match started with TGB catching Dk with two quick Arm
Drags. Derrick then caught Greg with two hard Hip Tosses. After a collar
and arm tie up DK pushed TGB back in the corner. After the break DK got in
a fast Open Hand Slap to the face. TGB rubbed his jaw and went back to
work. This time he pushed DK back into the corner and returned the open
hand slap. It was clear that DK was getting upset. No matter what he tried
TGB was with him move for move. DK out on the floor tossed a chair into the
ring but TGB tossed it back out. TGB was still one step ahead of
Derrick. I was totally enjoying this match!! DK back in the ring and his
fists started flying. I guess he figured that he had lost the wrestling
match and was just going to do what every was necessary to win the
match. Even then TGB was able to hit a hard Super Kick to the chin. Both
were down. TGB got a two count but DK kicked out. Later in the match DK
hit his Super Kick, which 99% of the time is the end. Not this time TGB
was able to reach way down and fine the energy to kick out at 2 and 2/3
count. Greg started to come back in this match by using wrestling moves
and not fists. He got in his Golden Guillotine but DK kicked out
again. The very crafty DK caught TGB in a Small Package and was able to
hold it for three count. After that match they both exchanged hand
shakes. DK left the ring and TGB turned around to thank the fans for their
support. Chris Fury came running out with a metal bar in his hand and he
hit TGB in the back of the head with it. Fury started pounding on
TGB. All five or six referee ran to the ring and were able to finally pull
him off of TGB. TGB was left laying face down in the ring. All of the
referee's were able to carry him to the back. I was not able to see if he
was busted open or not. I hope he is fine today but that was a hard
hit. In a rematch, I would put my money of TGB to win.
5th Match
Stan Lee /w Summer vs Christian "Girl Candy" Jacobs
Stan Lee got off to a
fast start in this one. I probably was the one fan cheering for CJ in this
match. After what Stan Lee did to Trendsetter, he will never be my
favorite again. CJ finally started to turn the tide. CJ was able to lock
on his Sharp Shooter but Stan got to the ropes and the referee broke the
hold. In a surprise move CJ hit Stan Lee with a beautiful Super Kick. The
fight continued and they were both down. They got up at the eight
count. Stan did hit a Flying Head Scissors.Somehow, Stan Lee was able to
roll up CJ and with two hands full of tights, that the referee failed to
see, he got the three count.
Feature Match
PKO Pokerface vs Rude
Pokerface came out with both of the former MACW Tag
belts but nothing was really said about them. This was a back and forth
match between these ex partners. They didn't want a referee in this
one. They both hit the referee and he went down and out. One of the LAW
security people attempted to get in the ring and save the referee and all
he got for his trouble was a 3-D from the team of Rude and Pokerface. I
don't think this fight is over.
Semi-Main Event
LAW Tag Team Championship
Kilo w/Auburn Thunder & Mean Mark Justice vs Tony Gunn & Mark Sterling (Champions)
Belts on the line in this match. The beautiful Auburn was
working on my side of the ring right in front of me. Yes, that was very
enjoyable! :-) With Lady Vixen gone after DK gave her that pile driver,
Auburn Thunder has to be my favorite valet/manager. I have heard the name
before but I don't remember seeing Mean Mark Justice work before. That
little sweet Ms. Auburn pulled out a nasty chain and gave it to
Kilo. After he used it he slipped it back to her and she put it down the
front of her blouse. Bet the referee would not search her there for
it. It sure looked to this fan that Kilo and Justice had worked before as
a tag team. There were lots of double team moves from both sides in this
match. I have always liked Tony Gunn in the ring. There were many times
that both Mark Justice and Mark Sterling were in the ring at the same
time. It was hard to figure out which Mark the fans were chanting for at
times. Kilo climbed to the top turnbuckle and went for a Frog Splash. His
opponent was laying 2/3 of the way across the ring. At the last
milli-second he rolled out of the way and Kilo hit the mat hard. Sterling
started to be beat down. He finally was able to make the tag and young
Tony Gunn came in a cleaned house. After a double back Suplex Tony was
able to get the pin. The LAW champs held on to their belts. I hope to see
them against the old Naughty by Nature and see just how good they are.
Main Event
Derrick King vs Jason "Superman" Reed
Well this was the final time, but I
enjoyed cheering for Jason in this match. I am not going to go into detail
of this match. Take my word that this was a good wrestling match. Both
men were giving it their all. They were both working hard in this
match. First one and then the other would get an advantage. Jason did hit
a beautiful standing Moonsault. Jason did reach down in his bag of tricks
and come with an Abominable Stretch that had DK in trouble. They both came
off the ropes and it ended up with a double clothes line. Both men were
down. The referee was down. Bodies were laying everywhere. Heres comes the
one and only Ken Wayne to the ring. He first picked up DK and drive his
head into the mat with a Tombstone Pile Driver. He next went over to the
towel he had with him and got out a spray can. He sprayed something on the
towel. About this time Jason was getting to his feet. From behind, Ken
Wayne put the towel in his face. Jason did his best to fight it off but he
went out fast. Then Ken put pulled DK over and put DK's arm on top of the
lifeless Jason Reed. The referee came around enough to make the three
count. Jason "Superman" Reed had been robed!! Somebody call the
cops. Ken Wayne told DK, "You are now doomed". At least if Ken Wayne
is in the main event, I could get an early start on the drive back to Memphis.
The night ended and I made it to the local DQ and got my cone to eat on the
long drive back to Memphis.
Hope to see you at a live Indy event down the road - Hal
