The production weaves William Shakespeare’s immortal words with French composer Charles-François Gounod’s glorious operatic score. Stage Director Paula Suozzi and Conductor Christopher Fecteau wrote the new English translation which includes spoken dialogue from Shakespeare's original text. For over four hundred years, ROMEO & JULIET has been one of Shakespeare’s best-known works. Since its composition, audiences around the world have been enthralled by the magical language and poetry, the bitter feud that tears apart the lives of two families and the passionate intensity between the star-crossed lovers.
