2003-2004 Season

Fosse

FOSSE, the Tony Award winning smash hit musical, highlights the work of the legendary dancer, choreographer and director Bob Fosse. Fosse’s sexy style and unique vision revolutionized the musical theatre with the Broadway hits Sweet Charity, Chicago, Dancin’, and the films Cabaret and All That Jazz. Long-time Fosse stars Gwen Verdon and Ann Reinking came together to recreate Bob Fosse’s groundbreaking work, and an extraordinarily talented cast brings Broadway’s all-time best choreography to life!

Peter Pan

Rounding out the 2004-2005 season of Broadway at The Milwaukee Theatre, PETER PAN stars the legendary Cathy Rigby in a farewell performance! In stifling Edwardian London, Wendy Darling mesmerizes her brothers every night with bedtime tales of swordplay, swashbuckling and the fearsome Captain Hook. But the children become the heroes of an even greater story, when Peter Pan flies into their nursery one night and leads them over moonlit rooftops through a galaxy of stars and to the lush jungles of Neverland. Wendy and her brothers join Peter and the Lost Boys in an exhilarating life--free of grown-up rules--while also facing the inevitable showdown with Hook and his pirate gang. A great tale suitable for all ages, especially children, Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby takes flight in the 100th anniversary of the James Barrie tale – "Peter Pan."

The King & I

The second show in the 2004-2005 Broadway at The Milwaukee Theatre series is set in the exotic and opulent Far East in the 1860s. Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I tells the story of an adventurous Englishwoman, Anna Leonowens, who becomes governess to the many children of the autocratic and stubborn King of Siam. The original 1951 production received five Tony Awards including Best Musical; the 1956 movie adaptation received five Academy Awards.

02/22/2005 - 02/27/2005

Thoroughly Modern Millie

The third show in the 2004-2005 Broadway at The Milwaukee Theatre series was the biggest Tony Award®-winner of 2002! The Best Musical on Broadway is a singing, dancing, romancing musical comedy that takes you back to Manhattan, 1922, with all the jazz-age razzmatazz you want in a big, bright, brand-new Broadway blockbuster. It's the story of a Midwestern girl who arrives in New York determined to take the town by storm. USA Today says MILLIE is "a thoroughly delightful experience." And as Time Out New York says, "you can't see this kind of whirling, transporting pop entertainment anywhere else!"
