Tennessee Thunder vs. Regulators

A Night of Hits and Misses

Game 1 of the JC Regulators 2004 campaign is in the books. It was DEFINATELY a night of hits and misses. The Regulators, slightly short in numbers, dominated the opening quarter by hitting hard and hitting quick. On opening kickoff, the Regulators kicked off to the Thunder and on one hard hit, took the ball from the Thunder on a fumble recovery. The Regulators then began to drive the ball down the Thunder's throat by pounding big John Leeper and Dante' (Jack) up the middle and putting the Regulators in the endzone. Despite Cody's (starting linebacker) ejection in the second quarter (over an aparent bad call), the Regulators still held strong on defense. The Regulators' defense had a field day, picking off pass after pass and laying hard hit after hard hit. At one point, even big Monty picked off a pass and returned it for several yards before being brought down. Even though the final score was 31-6 in favor of the Thunder, we have them again at "The Valley" later in the season. A chance at redemption? You better believe it! Great sportsmanship was shown before and after the game. Despite a little side drama, the game was very tight until the 4th quarter. But, we do get the Thunder one more time. Be ready men and thanks for a great game.
