- ELITE hockey league is starting to erupt, everywhere you turn you hear talk of the league and its high standards. Everyone in the hockey world cant't wait until the puck drops for game 1 of the inagural ELITE season.
With a great commish and only the best general managers that can be found this league looks to be the envy of other hockey leagues across the world. Expect it to be well ran and also expect the players to play tough, there isn't going to be anyone from staff to players to GMs slacking in this league. But there is no league without fans thats why Players like Patrick Marleau and Martin St. Louis have promised that there will be plenty of scoring and drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. Toronto goalie Ed Belfour disagrees though, he said "Lots of scoring? Those guys forgot who is standing between the pipes."
When you think of scoring one guy you do not think of is Peter Worrell but he is one guy that is always right in the middle of the action. Worrell commented on ELITE earlier, "I'll be putting some fans in the seats and my hand in someones face if they mess with my Avalanche teammates." Worrell also spoke about Tie Domi's trash talking about little guy Marek Svatos, "He is a great rookie, a big part of our team and if Tie touches him when we hit the ice against Toronto he will have to put up with me so he needs to keep his mouth shut."
With the players ready to throw their weight around and put the puck in the net I dont see how you couldn't be excited about ELITE. Will the league live up to its expectations?
