Baxter's Homepage

I am a Shih Tzu puppy.
My birthday is April 20, 2003.

Okay, here's the story...
I was one of a litter of six.
Did I mention that I was the cutest one?

My new human/owner came to my house
to look at other puppies.
She looked at them,
held each one of them,
talked to them, asked questions about them,
yadda yadda yadda...
but she still wasn't convinced
that she wanted one of those "other" ones.
(There was still time.)

I remember her looking at me
(and my brother and sisters)
rolling out from under the couch
when she first arrived.
I heard her ask what breed I was.
She stopped for a moment and looked,
and smiled... but went to look
at the "others".

About an hour later,
she was getting ready to leave
(empty handed, I might add)
and she reached down
and picked up my baby sister.
I heard her say something about her markings.
I was trying to get her attention
so she would notice MY markings...
(whatever markings are).
While she was holding my sister,
I was picked up and held
by this beautiful young woman,
who cuddled me, petted me, and talked to me.
I was in love.
She was my soon-to-be human/owner's daughter...
[Krista] and she smelled good.
There were two boys [Ben and Tyler]
who came along too...
they had both already fallen in love with me
from the very first moment.
(I just have that natural charm, you know.)

After my soon-to-be human/owner held me
for only a few minutes
I knew... she knew... everyone knew...

To make a long story short,
I made new friends that day... lifelong friends.
I moved into a new house with a new family.
I have my own wire crate...
so I don't get into too much trouble
while I am home alone.
I have my own bed and lots of toys.
and I get to play outside too.

And one more thing...
my new human/owner is tickled
that she didn't get one of the "others".
She told me so.

Life is good ...

Doesn't everyone sleep like this?

(my feet were dirty)

I'm not as shy as I look...

Who woke me up?

Is it time to walk now?

 These things smell purdy good...
