Wow, were do I begin! I guess I'm just like most horse people, I was born with the love of horses. I didn't get my first horse until I was 12. He was an old gaited type gelding that I was gonna train for the olympics on, all on my own. Well, he didn't get me to the olympics, but what I did learn was so much more rewarding. Boy, those were the days! A few years later I started working so I could afford riding lessons. Every Sunday my mom would take me to Germantown so I could ride. After several months I began a working student position with a 3-day event rider. This is where I first fell in love with appaloosa's! I was to inexperienced to ride some of the thoroughbreds, so I needed something more low keyed. Natchez Trace was a 15 yr. old retired hunter. They pulled him out of the field a day before the show. I try to ride him and he bucks me off. The next day, we bring home blue ribbons. I went on to win several more in hunters and dressage. He was the greatest thing! After finishing high school, my family moved back up North. I had an 8 year layoff of riding or really having anything to do with horses. I soon got married and lived life. We had the opportunity to move to middle Tennessee back in 1998. We jumped on it and I soon had my own horse, a 17 yr. old appaloosa mare. Two months later I bought a thoroubred/appaloosa cross. The rest is history and I now have several of each size! I have continued to ride and train a variety of horses, from draft to pony. I have always showed at open shows, this has been my first year trying breed shows. Appaloosa's will always be my breed of choice!
