THE LUV BUILDUP!!!
This page will have images and descriptions on the buildup of my 1980 Chevrolet LUV truck.
Previously there was a 1978 Buick V6 and 5 speed that was the heart of the luv for more than 7 years.

The engine and transmission are in and all the fuel lines are run. I still have the alternator mount, miscellaneous wiring, radiator hoses, driveshaft, battery cable, mounting battery, cutting hole in bed for access to fuel cell, radio, accellerator cable, shifter....etc....etc.....slowly but surely I am getting there!

May 18, 2002 - I fabricated an instrument cluster to replace the original cluster.
picture --->PICK HERE or PICK HERE the fuel level will be installed where you see the voltmeter. I just received the fuelgauge last night, so that will be in place soon.

May 21, 2002 - I removed the front fenders, bumper, cowling and headlights so I can begin running the "hidden" wiring

June 7, 2002 I was in the middle of rewiring and decided to mount the S2000 Start button.

I ordered relays and connectors the other day from parts express.

there is also a good headlight re-wire on this page for all of you who are sick of those dim headlights.

I finally finished the wiring phase of the project. these pictures were taken 10-17-02
the pictures below show the gauges in the truck and the engine compartment. sorry about the darkness of the pictures. I didn't have time to roll the truck outside for extra light.

The fuel cell is mounted now. all that is needed is a little paint and rubber for the straps and I am finished with it. gotta mount the fuel pump now.PIC1 HERE

Ok so I haven't posted any pics in a long time....prolly cause I haven't worked on it in a long time. I tacked in the coilover mounts for the front suspension and have added pics.

My heads have angled plugs. here are pics of the tube I had to move on the headers to clear for one of the plugs. these pics are with the tubes tack welded in place. soon to be tig welded and re-coated.
