Marriage Bonds, Licenses & Certificates

Henry County was formed in 1821, unfortuatly our earliest marriage record book (1821-1837) has been lost. We do have a single marriage bond from 1834 for a marriage between a Hendricks and a Butterworth. The County Archive has marriage records from 1838 thru about 1986. We have been able to recreate from other sources some marriage records before 1838.

We Have

*Actual Marriage Certificates begin mid-1860's and copies are available from the archives upon request. We can provide plain b/w copies or color parchment copies suitable for framing for a nominal fee. Please contact us for for further details. - FREE Lookups

**To locate a certificate after 1971 you must provide us with the name of the groom and year of marriage (within 5 years). We have very few certificates for 1986.
