About Us

Courthouse in 1823

Welcome to The Henry County, Tennessee Archive & Genealogy Library.

The center is a consortium devoted to Henry County genealogical and historical research. It is comprised of The Henry County Archives (Old Courthouse Records), W. G. Rhea Public Library-Genealogy Department, and the Henry County Genealogical Society.

The Henry County Archive is the repository for Henry County's "Old Records." These records are no longer necessary for the day-to-day operation in the public offices that created them. Many date to the beginning of the county in 1821 and have great historical value.

They are placed at the Archive for preservation and protection and made available to the public. (per state statute)

The W. O. Inman Genealogy Room, ran by volunteers from the Henry County Genealogical Society, is dedicated to the preservation and accessability to the history of Henry County, Tennessee. We are located in the W. G. Rhea Public Library in Paris, Tennessee. We have Census Records, Funeral Home Records, News Papers, Local Histories, Family Histories and the list goes on.
