First Split Loom Piece

This is my first split loom necklace. This was taught by Starlite Nunley at Canter's Cave in Oct. at the mini Bead Retreat we had. Starlite studied with Frieda Bates so she taught Frieda's method of warping the loom and doing split loom bead weaving.

NEWEST PIECE

This is my second loom piece--it will be hung from a hanger as soon as I get it--it's on order. I couldn't wait to show it off. This is "Souad" from Margie Deeb's book 'Out On A Loom

I've been playing with some of the "toys" I bought while at the Bead and Button show. The beads are Wonder Beads from the class I took taught by Wendy Hubrick and Sue Jackson. I bought quite a few patterns and these are two of them worked using DB 310 (matt black) and 037 (copper lined clear). The two spacer beads (size 26 copper wire) are my first attempt at using the Twist "N" Curl by Donna Designs. Using another technique I learned while I was at Kristi's house I made the chain by doing a looping technique around a dowel using size 26 copper wire and then pulling it through a draw plate. After I had my DH help by pulling it through the last few holes I then had to figure out a way to make a fastener. After a few abortive attempts I finally made the clasps that look halfway decent.

This is a bag I made for my daughter-in-law Theresa for her birthday--July 29. OK, I'm a few weeks late but I'm mailing it off tomorrow. She went through my books and picked this out (last Dec.) and it's from Suz Cooper's 'Dancing Light' and the pattern Snowflakes. Steve, Theresa and Taylor have recently moved to Flint, MI--guess Theresa thinks this bag will ward off the snow--LOL
