This unique area located on the Tenessee River in Chattanooga is rich in both native and historic history. The sites on the bend have been looted for many years and even today it takes the efforts of constant police patrolling to stop it. Some of the sites are also threatened by erosion of the river bank. A plan now in consideration would place parts of the bend into the National Park Service. (SEE)
