Thank you Rich, Bunnetune and Becky and everyone else. I'm listening to Patty's If My Heart Had Windows CD and it brings up some old feelings but my how her voice soars on "You Saved Me", "Baby's Gone Blues," "A Little On The Lonely Side" and "Once In A Lifetime" - these really pull on your heart strings- also "A Little Bit in Love With You" makes me want to jump up and dance but I'm afraid the people around me here might call the men in the white jackets to come and take me away HA HA!
Patty's voice to me soars and is so unique how she can pull you into her music. My religous beliefs are intimate and private to me and so I can appreciate and respect everyone else's privacy. I just remember those songs from my childhood when I used to go to my Mountain Grandma's house and everyone would be on her front porch singing those old hymns. Those sincerely are precious memories to me. Patty's voice is so pure and sweet so I can just imagine how wonderful to me she would sound singing those songs.
Hugs to everyone (((( ))))

Becky seemed to hit the nail on the head in the other forum at Patty Corner "new cd".
Back to the topic, like I said before, ever since that day at work 10 yrs ago when I heard "Nothin' But The Wheel" on the radio, I didn't know who it was, but I was hooked from then on. I didn't even listen to country. I kept listening to that station and finally I heard it again and found out it was Patty. I won't repeat again my other musical interests at the time, but hey, Patty was sure a step up for me. Of course I went and bought the cd that night. My wife thought I was strange. She didn't understand my infatuation, but needless to say I'm single now.
I don't really know how to say "what" her music does for me, but I'm sure my world would be a much darker place without her soothing voice. Whether it be upbeat and happy like "Timber", a love song like "If you Think", or the dark, haunting real everyday life songs like "Don't Toss us Away", "If you Don't Want Me", "If it's the Last Thing I do", I could go on forever.
I think I'm gonna put some of that in my cd player. Haven't listened to it for awhile lol.........Ace

What music of Patty's do you find most appealing and how does it impact you?
Patty's music actually gives voice to a few perspectives in life, at least in mine:
The first is that plaintive wailing that happens when you've maybe made choices that aren't going to serve you as well as you initially thought and you're reaping the consequences from them, usually in the form of a broken heart or wounded spirit. Patty seems to be able to dig down in her soul and put music to those despairing types of things that long to whimper and wail but she does it with such smooth grace and burdens them with just the right weight of emotion that I gladly let her voice carry me down that bluesy river.
The second is the nearly defiant and persevering attitude that Patty's lyrics seem to convey so well. Combined with the inherent strength demonstrated in her voice - that magical ability to be both in control and out of control vocally that Patty is able to do effortlessly - she just exudes a stong and triumphant attitude.
The third is that sparkling, over-the-top with joy kind of polish or embellishment that Patty can add with a simple vocal flourish. She has a twinkle in her eye and lilt in her voice that says "I'm living and loving life, no matter what else happens."

Wanda, it is funny you should mention that CD... I was listening to it this weekend. "You Saved Me" is a song I dedicate to my husband. Like I said before whether Patty ever decides to do a gospel CD or not is totally up to her, but we know how good it would be, cause it would come from her heart. Wanda, I, too, know it would be the most heart felt gospel album I own.. and it gives me chills to think about how sweet it would sound. :) ((((hugs, to everyone)))))))))) Thanks for your prayers, I'm doing better!

Rich, bless your heart what an incredible story. It is so amazing how Patty can touch our lives through her music. The messages we receive in just listening to her strong emotional gift are treasures. I'm sorry about your sister but it's wonderful that Patty's music created a special moment close to your heart between you and your sister. Take care and God Bless! Many hugs to you. That was a very uplifting story that I will read often. Simply amazing what Patty can do.

Liek I have stated before, what is it about Patty, Trisha, and Cheryl Wheeler's music that can really bring a smile to your face, a tear to your eye, and a spring in your step?.

Thank you all, Im sorry I failed to mention another Patty story, not really about me, but a little girl named Melissa, in a Boston Hospital, there was a post maybe a year or so ago, some of you may remember, it simply said "Patty T-shirt, well, I decided to go in and no one had responded, it was a woman asking if anyone knew where she could get a Patty T-shirt? so I gave her a few tips, like the Fan Club or ebay?, well, she responded that there was not enough time to get it through the fan club, so i responded again, with my E-mail address, well, then started a correspondance which I was then told the little girl, who was actually I believe 19, but mentally around 8, she was having brain surgery to relieve water in the brain, and all she wanted was a T-shirt from her favorite singer, of course Patty!!, so we started brainstorming, I decided that I would contact somebody!!, so I picked up my Long Stretch CD and got the name of Patty's Management company, at that time it was Fitzgerald-Hartley, called 411, said gimmee Nashville,Tenn please, and I got the number, so I figured what the hoo? all they could do was say NO!, well, I spoke to a woman I believe her name was Debbie, I told her what was going on, she said: WELL, we need a fax from the Doctor, or the Nurse, a written statement from the parents, she gave me thier Fax number and said she would wait for a response..blah, blah, blah, I was becoming frustrated, so i called Trisha (Melissa's aunt) by this time we had exchanged phone numbers, she thanked me and said she would call me back, well the Doctor did not really want to do this, so I called Debbie back (you keepin up with me here?) and told her, everyone is very busy, the Doctor does not have time to do this, and told her, if Patty knew of this, I was sure she would help, by this time things were running in to alot of Red tape, so I asked Trisha for the address to the Hospital, since I had 2 autographed T-Shirts, i would send Melissa one of mine, that girl was gonna have her a Patty Loveless T-shirt, she said no, I can't let you do that, but I persisted, after all, she loved Patty, so I sent the T-shirt off the next day Fed-Ex, well, 2 hrs after I sent the shirt, Trisha called me, that Patty had called Melissa, but she was down in the Lab for testing but said she would call back the next day at noon, well, SHE DID!!, Trisha called and said that Patty had called, and talked to Melissa, and apologized for being short, but she had a deadline to finish her new Album (which we now know as Strong Heart) so she had to get back to the Studio, but to be on the lookout for a package, since her & Debbie had gone out shopping that day, well, I got an E-mail 3 days later saying the package had INDEED arrived, and it conatianed an autographed T-shirt, 2 autographed PICS, ALL her CD's with a promise of the new one once it was released, and a 12" Crystal angel, she offered to sned back my shirt, but I said no, let her keep it, well to my surprise, bout 4 days later a package came for me, it was one of Melissa's Photo's, autographed, with a card thanking me, Trisha called me once more to let me know Melissa came out of surgery just fine, and it was her idea to send me the pic, bless her heart, I still have it, I had it framed, it was from LSOL I believe, Patty in a gold knit blouse, which she was wearing once when I met her previously, unfortunately, Trisha and I lost contact, my PC crashed and I lost her E-mail address, and then changed mine so we never chatted again, but I did come across the card recently, and I JUST KNOW!! Patty sent her that CD like she promised, she is one incredible woman, it's no wonder her music is appreciated by and inspires SO MANY!!!, and Dietra, I'm not sure who Cheryl Wheeler is? but Audiogalaxy here I come!!! (GRIN) Thanks again Guys....

Thanks Dfan, haha, I did meet a dude named Dave I believe? he had a T-Shirt of "The un-official Patty Loveless Fan Club" from Northern Calif, but lost his E-mail, I really liked the shirt also, it was from the Fallen Angels photo collection, REALLY NICE T-Shirt,he was going to send me one, but I lost his E-mail addy....and funny you should mention write a book, writing is a big passion of mine, often thought of writing a book, actually, my dream is to write a song and have Patty record one, or 4? haha, but I'm no Kostas or Jim Lauderdale, but do have a few I'm working on, then it would be a Screenplay, and believe it or not? it's Titled after one of Patty's songs, and inspired by it also, so WHO KNOWS? and Larry I'm going to shoot a few PICS your way, Im not sure what I have scanned, other than the one I told ya about, but I will send what I have, and scan the rest at a later date, it's funny actually, if Patty only knew, she brought these handful of people together with one common bond.. HER!

Rich, wow!! You have done incredible things and must surely be one of those very special 'overcomer' types of people. You've blessed us (or at least me) in sharing your stories (with a great writing talent, to boot!) and giving us some inspiration for persevering! If we can keep leaning on those who help you through the tough times and then invite them back to share in the victory, then success is doubled.
I've no doubt that Patty would say she had done the work she was put on the earth to do if she read your stories. I can't remember if she's ever said in an interview specifically, but it seems she has expressed a desire to share music so the healing effect that music has had in her life can hopefully be found by others. You've proven it can.
(D, I think there's been a guest book entry early on that may have been Patty's visit, but I don't know that it's ever been confirmed for certain. If she has, I know she must have been pleased with what Lilly and Eddie were doing because it's the best site out here for her & has only grown better with the addition of folks like LarryBob, Elaine, Bob, Dave, and other contributors & volunteers!)

Thanks Bren, I think that if you can help someone else, by opening up, then it's all worth it, just like Patty with her music, moving on is very hard, but it's a very healing road, ya just gotta take that first step
