Susan Ker Weld was born August 27, 1943, in New York City. Tuesday’s first motion picture was 1956’s The Wrong Man, but her role of a giggling was uncredited. This was followed by parts in Rock, Rock, Rock starring Chuck Berry and Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys! with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. The next thing to happen in Weld’s career is what really got her some attention. From 1959-1960, she played the lovely Thalia Menninger on the popular television series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. For the next year or so, Tuesday co-starred in a few other movies including Because They’re Young, Sex Kittens Go to College, and High Time.
In 1961, Weld was chosen to star with the famous Elvis Presley in Wild in the Country. She played the role of Noreen, Elvis’ wild cousin. The movie also starred Hope Lange and Millie Perkins. Sometime after filming, Tuesday made this remark about Elvis: "He walked into a room and everything stopped. Elvis was just so physically beautiful that even if he didn't have any talent...just his face, just his presence. And he was funny, charming, and complicated, but he didn't wear it on his sleeve. You didn't see that he was complicated. You saw great needs."
For the rest of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, Weld made around 28 films and TV movies. Pretty Poison, Play It As It Lays, Reflections of Murder, and Heartbreak Hotel are just a few.
To date, Tuesday’s latest work was in 1993’s Falling Down and 1996’s Feeling Minnesota.
Gary Lockwood was born John Gary Yurosek on February 21,1937, in Van Nuys California. Lockwood began his movie career by having a small appearance in 1960's Tall Story, but his role as a Russian basketball player was uncredited. But just a year later, Gary was chosen to co-star in Elvis Presley's next film, Wild in the Country. He would play Cliff Macy, Glenn Tyler's (Elvis) enemy. In the latter part of the movie, Glenn is suspected to have caused Cliff's death.
Following his work in Splendor in the Grass with Natalie Wood and The Magic Sword with fellow Presley co-star Anne Helm, Gary was again chosen to star with The King once more. This time as Danny Burke, Elvis' character's gambling friend, in It Happened at the World's Fair. In a recent magazine, Lockwood remembers Presley as "just a down home country boy".
For the rest of Gary's career, which includes the rest of the 60's 70's and 80's, he has mainly starred on quite a few television series and made for TV movies. His shows include Follow the Sun and The Lieutenant. But Lockwood is probably best know for his role in the 1968 film 2001: Space Odyssey.
Today Gary lives in Malibu, California. His most recent acting appearances were in Night of the Scarecrow and Trekkies.
