WHO IS THE HOLY GHOST?

First did you know the Holy Ghost is a "He"? He is not an "it". He has feelings and can be grieved. (See Ephesians 4:30)

The Holy Ghost is the author of the Bible (2 Samuel 23:2). He is referred to by other names such as the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit of promise, the Spirit of truth, the Spirit of grace, the Spirit of life, the Spirit of adoption, and the Spirit of holiness.

He is illustrated by symbols such as fire (Acts 2:1,2); wind (Acts2:1,2); water (John 7:27-39); seal (Ephesians 1:13); oil (Acts 10:38); and a dove (John 1:32).

The Holy Ghost proceeds from God the Father and is worshiped and glorified together with the Father and the Son. He inspired the Scriptures, empowers God's people and convicts the world "of sin, and of righteousness and of judgement" (John 16:8).

SOME OF THE THINGS THE HOLY GHOST DOES:

Reveals God and His Word to us (2 Peter 1:21).

Teaches us. (John 14:26).

Witnesses about God and Jesus (Hebrews 10:15).

Interceeds for us to God. (Romans 8:26).

Speaks. (Revelation 2:7)

Commands Us. (Acts 16:6,7).

Tesifies of God and Jesus (John 15:26).

Empowers us to boldly serve the Lord (Acts 1:8).
