We are a no-kill, non-profit humane organization dedicated to rescuing the sick, injured, abused, abandoned and neglected animals of Fayette County.

Make a Difference… Volunteer!

Yes, I know that I missed a couple weeks sending information out to you which I hate, but we have been BUSY BUSY BUSY! Our last two adoption days have been really great and we have found loving homes for the majority of our puppies that were ready. All were adopted except for Napoleon, Mandy & Pandora, but hopefully their time is coming this weekend!  Ms. Piggy & her 12 babies continue to grow by leaps & bounds.  We will take 4 of the largest babies off her this weekend and then continue to wean them slowly to reduce the impact to mama.

We have had a tremendous response to our requests for volunteers and we just want you to know how much your time and effort is appreciated. When we planned our 2006 Event Schedule we knew that we had really stretched ourselves but with all of your support the year to date has been very successful and fun!

If you are interested in volunteering please email Laurie at fayettefcar@hotmail.com.

New Arrivals

WW, a beagle mix and Jobe, a yellow lab are new additions to the FCAR family.

Adoptions
A fantastic 2 weeks of adoptions!

Australian Shepherd Litter
 - Helen: Her new name is Libbie and she was adopted by foster mom extraordinaire Christy & family.
-  Cassandra was adopted and is now living the high life in Midtown
-  Achilles was adopted and makes his home now with 2 kids and another dog to keep him busy
-  Electra found her forever home this past Saturday

- Kahlua, Bourbon & Amaretto, the 3 puff ball puppies were all adopted (if you didn't get a chance to see these guys you missed out as they were probably the softest, snuggliest puppies we have had in a long time!)

- Monty, the german shepherd mix puppy that was so malnourished that his legs were like rubber fully recovered and was adopted into a loving home

-  Drizzle & Sputnik, both cats, were adopted this past Saturday

Events

The grand opening for Petsmart is this weekend! We are very excited by the addition of this new venue for finding homes for our rescues. We will be at Petsmart Saturday, 03/25 from 8am (setup) to 3pm and Sunday from 9am (setup) to 3pm. They are having a large celebration event with a radio remote, give-a-ways, etc. so we are planning on bringing a large number of animals for adoption. We could still use additional help on both days so let me know if you can assist. We are also having our regular adoption event at Petco in Germantown from 8am (setup) to 3pm and could use more volunteers there as well.

We have been working VERY hard on the planning for our April 1st Event. We have a Pet Walk, Adoption Event, FCAR Reunion, raffle, possible radio remote, vendors, food, entertainment and more planned. If you have already volunteered to help with this event a huge thank you! If you haven't signed up yet, please consider helping... this is the largest event we've had this year and the more assistance we have the better the event will be.

Please check the schedule in the left border for all events click here to view our Volunteer Event Schedule. Let Laurie know which events you can help with. If you cannot make your scheduled event please let us know ahead of time so that we can find a replacement.
