Make a Difference… Volunteer!
We are literally
busting at the seams with dogs right now. We are up to 91 animals
and have a pregnant mama dog who will give birth in the next
couple of weeks. Most of these babies have had very little
socialization but we have a wonderful opportunity to make a
difference in their lives by spending an extra amount of time with
them. If you can come spend time with them at the shelter let me
know so I can coordinate the time with you.
Thank you Red,
Matt, Judy, Cheryl, Jacob, Gina, Yvette, Laurie H., Michael, Loren
& friends for coming out to the shelter Saturday and spending time
with the puppies and helping get the newsletters ready to mail.
Your time really does make a difference!
Our next adoption
event isn't until 02/18/06 but we could still use a few more
people to help setup and tear down.
We've gotten a great
response but could still use more volunteers for the Midsouth Boat
Show. Last year we raised $1,800 at this event so we want to be
ready for the crowd this year. We especially need more help
Saturday morning and evening.
Check the
Volunteer Event Schedule for shift times.
***I screwed up and
somehow deleted the list of volunteers for the 02/25 Petco
adoption and Mardi Gras parade event. If you can volunteer please
send me an email so that I can put you on the schedule.
And finally we
have 2 adoption events scheduled for March 25th. If you
have a van or SUV that you can assist in transporting animals and
adoption materials either in the morning (meet at 7am at shelter)
or afternoon (3pm at adoption location and then drive back to
shelter) PLEASE let me know. The only other alternative
would be to rent a van and I’d hate to use our limited funds to do
that.
We also have the
opportunity to do an adoption March 26th at the new Petsmart store
opening at Hacks Cross & Winchester. This is in addition to the
adoption event on 03/25 at Petco and Petsmart. I know it's a lot
but with all the puppies we have right now it is vital that we
take every opportunity to find them homes while they are young.

Our Rescues
New Arrivals
We have caught 4
additional dogs at the house on Raleigh Lagrange. The dogs are
malnourished and have various broken bones from being hit by cars.
We have one more dog to catch which will bring the total from this
house to 11 dogs.
Adoptions
- There
were no adoption events last week.
This is Amos... he is currently
undergoing heartworm treatment. |
