First of all, this can be found in Ephesians 6.
You have none of these unless you're a Christian. These weapons are spiritual; they help you in your walk with the Lord.
The purpose of these weapons are: "....So that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand," Ephesians 6:13b.
Sword of the Spirit
"..... and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God," Ephesians 6:17b.
The Sword of the Spirit is the Bible. Knowing a lot of God's word (being able to recite it) will help you against satan, for he can't stand the truth of God. This is a very powerful weapon, for no demon or devil can stand when you say the word of God.
Belt of Truth
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist........"Ephesians 6:14a.
The Belt of Truth is honesty. If you are honest with yourself than satan will not find that a weakness and will not be able to harm you there. If you have trouble telling the truth, than work on it and pray to God to help you strengthen that.
Breastplate of Righteousness
".....with the Breastplate of Righteousness in place," Ephesians 6: 14b.
The Breastplate of Righteousness is essential. It is being Righteous- not sinning. If you don't sin than satan can't hit you in the heart. You can't be flawless, but ask God to help you be as perfect as possible.
Gospel of Peace
"and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace," Ephesians 6: 15.
The Gospel of Peace is knowing what God has said in the Bible and knowing then how to turn away the lies of the devil. Read your Bible and be strengthened in it so you can turn away the lies of the devil.
Shield of Faith
"In addition to all this, take up the Shield of Faith, which which you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one," Ephesians 6:16.
The Shield of Faith isn't just being a Christian; it's knowing you are saved and therefore the devil can't trick you into you thinking you aren't. The Shield of Faith is also essentual; the devil can't trick you into thinking you aren't saved and you will stand firm.
The Helmet of Salvation
" Take the Helmet of Salvation..........."Ephesians 6:17a.
The Helmet of Salvation is being saved. Notice the helmet protects your vital brains and other things. The Helmet of Salvation protects your vitals as does the Breastplate of Righteousness.
Steps to Salvation 1. Admit you're a sinner. 2. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead. 3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and to forgive you of your sins.
