Hometown || About The City || Scenery || I came from Tuban. The regent is about 100 Km from Surabaya, East Java province. Tuban has so many interest places to visit as well as unique traditions. My village is Montong, around 30 minutes trip from the regent city. In the future Tuban will become an industrial city. Four cement factory already established and soon will be followed by chemical factories.

The City In the south of regency is bordered by Bengawan Solo. The river often inundates the valley in the rainy season. In the north it has Java sea with the beautiful beaches. People can enjoy the sunrise in the morning. The view become nicer when goes to sea on a sailboat or yacht. Muslim visitor are interested in the tomb of Sunan Bonang. It is located to the west of the town square. Muslim come to respect to the religious leader. He propagated the teaching of Islam in Java and he was considered the most senior among the walis. The uniqueness of the tomb is that it displays the blending of the Hindu and Islam architecture. Adjacent to the tomb is the great mosque of Tuban. Tuban already well known since the reign of the Majapahit Kingdom. At the kingdom era Tuban is one of the beach city and has a very crowded labor. Tuban has also deep meaning for Muslim visitor because one of the famous Islam spreader (Wali Songo) is buried in Tuban, Sunan Bonang. The city is facing the sea. One of the main road is right after the sea side, so every people who passed this road could see the sea panorama. Speaking of panorama, there are so many beautiful place to visit such as ' Nglirip' waterfall, Bat cave, 'Bekti' natural swimming pool, 'Ngeboom' beach, etc. Scenery Farther wets, about 13 km from Kerek visitor can go to the warm water spring in Parengan. This geyser is believed to have magic power of healing a number of diseases, especially of the skin. Around the villages the scenery is beautiful.The green field and thick woods can give visitor peace of mind and spirit.Going still westward tourist can see Nglirip waterfall. Its within easy reach because public transportation can go right to its edge. The waterfall is visible from the main road. In the surrounding area people ca see a number of tame long tail monkey wandering near visitor. About 3 km east from Nglirip waterfall there is a bat cave. Some Mapala members once entered the cave and they went as far as four kilometers along under the underground passage. In the cave they found a lot of chambers. People also visit Tuban to play at Bekti natural swimming pool. It has a large playground for children to satisfy themselves. They can also play with tame monkey who will come down the tree to meet visitor. They can play with the children and they are happy when visitor give them bananas or peanuts. The monkey will take food from a visitor's hand and eat it when offered. They do not any harm to visitor. Go and see for yourself.
