Kate Mary Kulig (aka KK, Weather, Stormy Weather, the Blonde, fka (and still legally, until I get around to changing it) Karen, which I never did like). Kulig is of Polish origin. If you'd like to learn about its background, click here or here or here; it's pretty cool having a last name that means a kind of party.

Born: 18 June 1966, Saugus, Massachusetts. If were nostalgic for the place, I'd put up a picture of the hospital. Well, if I could--it burned down some years ago.

Educated (formal): Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York. Bachelor of Arts, Communications, 1988. I minored in English and aim to complete a second degree at some point; some classes at the University of Utah have added to my credits, too.

Educated (informal/ongoing): Take the Money & Run University, which includes such subsidiaries as the CYA School of Business and the Wing-It School of Computer Science

Religion: Raised Catholic and followed the time-honored tradition of making my confirmation and promptly ceased going to mass for about ten years. During those ten years, I believed in the god I was brought up to worship, but not in organized religion. I went back to the Catholic church for a few years, attending off & on, always getting something out of it, but never able to believe the whole package and the trappings that went with it. Last time was my best friend's wedding in '97. After a lot of pondering, mulling, cogitating, ruminating, considering, and not a little thinking, I decided what's best for me was not to attempt to define the divine, if there is one. That lasted a little over a year and a half, and I've done a lot of learning and reading since then. Some of it on the Secular Web, which also includes some interesting links.

Various options I've considered, if I absolutely had to declare a religion, include the Church of Universal Life, I fully support their Freedom of Religion position. I'm finding myself more and more interested in Buddhism. I like a philosophy that encourages thinking, questioning, not accepting anything on blind faith, and not insisting I put my allegiance to a deity. A couple great resources I've found are Buddhanet and Access to Insight

If you believe in forever, then life is just a one-night stand.

Stormy Weather Books My second job, and I love it. In proud association with, I'm doing one of my favorite things in the world, referring people to good books. Please visit and let me know what else you'd like to see there.

Nouns: Just one of many indications that I'm part of GenerationX, I can still sing you tunes from Schoolhouse Rock. Anyway, my page of Links and Random Facts point towards the pages of persons, places and things I've found interesting, fascinating, so weird they have to be true or just plain fun. Enjoy.

Very Important: If you recognize this background, please email me and let me know, so I can give the artist proper credit. I can't recall where I found it.
