White - bright, purity, innocence
Marilyn Manson is/was in a mental/emotional state of Coma White. Coma White is a state in which M.M. feels no pain, detached from the world that seems to be out to destroy him or a world that is causing him to destroy himself or others. Rose is Coma White (hence the song, which is mainly about her). We (the fans) are Coma White. Coma White is also a drug. People take drugs to escape pain, to get away from life's problems.
Notice, behind the CD, there is a chart which contains the forms and stages of Coma. Look at the "pupil size" for stages of coma. Look at Marilyn's eyes on the cover. If you notice, M.M. is in Stage 3 (Surgical) of coma according to this chart. In the reflexes section of the chart, it shows that M.M. would be at a relaxed state. Then look at the "Examples of operative procedures" section of the Coma Chart. Marilyn has said that after recording ACS and begining to record this album, he had been going through a re-birth of sorts (not the christian re-birth). If ACS was a birth, and the new Marilyn Manson was a re-birth, wouldn't there be an emotional/mental state of pregancy,labor, then birth (or re-birth i should say)? Now back to the "Examples of Operative Procedures" section of the Coma Chart. The first stage of that section is labor. In the second stage it shows nothing, look vertically across and you will see that this is the 2nd stage of Coma, which is delirium. "I no longer knew if Coma White was real or just a side effect". That was one of the hidden messages in the album's booklet. That means that he didn't know if this was a result of drugs, love, or if it was a real thing occuring. Hence the song "Disassociative" (see my "Song Interpretations" part of this site for further interpretation on that). The 3rd stage of the Coma Chart shows surgical procedures. In the "Examples of Operative Procedures" section it shows many surgical changes of almost every part of the body."I re-attached my emotions, cellular and narcotic." That was a qoute from the well hidden 15th track (also hidden in the booklet). Since Rose is mainly Coma White, I would imagine that she may have had a lot to do with M.M. regaining his emotions. Back to the "Examples of Operative Procedures". In the 3rd stage it also says "obstetrical delivery", which is a medical term for birth. This represents M.M.'s transformation / re-birth. These "surgical procedures" are also represented on the cover. Marilyn Manson is shown as having breasts, six fingers, red eyes and hair, no genitals and weirdly shaped feet. Marilyn Manson feels like an alien to the world now that he has emotions and sees that most of us so called "humans" don't.
He wanted to save us now, originally he was sent to destroy. But that was what Anti-Christ Superstar wanted. But ACS was now dead. Marilyn Manson had been re-born into the world. Since he is now trying to save us from ourselves, a compact disc was created for us to help us. This compact disc was created so we could see the "mechanical animals" of the world so we would not become one of them. Notice how the CD looks like a pill with the word "COMA" written on it. This is the pill that can make us anybody else. It is a compact form of Coma White designed to help us. "But all the drugs in this world won't save us from ourselves". This means that Marilyn Manson, Omega, nor his music is not a saviour for us. He is mearly helping. Only we can save ourselves from becoming "mechanical animals". One last thing: the last line of the Coma Chart exhibits death. This may or may not mean that he may soon become Anti-Christ Superstr agaian...
