Hardin County, Tennessee

I only know of a few different sites in Hardin County, but they are great! I have found everything from birdpoints to Daltons at site H1. This site is next to the Tennessee River, and thats all I will say!

I found these artifacts in Hardin Co. on 6/13/98. From top left to right: Drill, blunt (H1). The large broken point on the top right came from a new site H4. Middle row: drill, large scraper (H1). Bottom row: scraper (H1), Woodland point (H4), and unknown point (H3). I went hunting with Kevin Runions and Kevin Hammans. Kevin R. found 6 whole points and Kevin H. found 3 whole points. Not a bad day at all!

I went to Hardin County and hunted site H1 on 5/02/98. From top left to right. Big Sandy blunt, triangle point of unknown type, unknown, (bottom row)a Pickwick drill, and a small perfect Autauga point.

I found this Benton (archaic 6000-4000 BP)point at site H1 on 4/18/98.

I found this side notch point on 2/21/98 at site H1. Kevin Runions seems to think that this is a Greenbrier, not a Big Sandy. After closer examination, I have decided to go along with him. This point is definatly not a Big Sandy like I had it once labled.

This Adena is made of quartz.(site H1) I found this point 1/12/98.

Upon closer examination, I still don't know what it is! Found at site H1.

I think this is a Harpeth River point.(9000-8000 BP)

This nice Benton blade(6000-4000 BP)is over 4" long!(site H1)
