he clouds looked low and heavy, but were not dark.
Daylight had taken on a
diffused glow that made the air itself look threatening. There would be rain, but
not yet. As the day crept toward dusk, the clouds did begin to darken, taking on the appearance of a solid grey wall. Everything in the woods was aware of the coming storm, and
was crawling back to whatever it considered shelter. The only creatures not prepared were the humans. Philip Durante turned his head at the sound of thunder.
"I don't suppose we'll be leaving early?"
