Prostate Gland Protection Information and Natural Prostate Health Remedies
Effective Homeopathic Prostate Health Remedy:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia
(BPH) is a condition that eventually affects at least 80% of men and is most
common after age 50. As the usually walnut-sized prostate grows, sometimes as
big as a grapefruit, it presses on the urethra (the outflow tract from the
bladder) causing incomplete emptying of the bladder, a weakened urine stream,
the need to urinate urgently, and most notably frequent bathroom breaks --
especially at night. While BPH is often more bothersome than dangerous, it can
result in bladder and urinary tract infections or even kidney damage.
One in three men are treated for BPH with surgery or prescription
drugs. However, growing research suggests that some symptoms may be treated as
effectively with over-the-counter herbal remedies -- sometimes less expensive
and with no reported side effects.
Växa's homeopathic medicinal, Prostatin+can be
helpful. The ingredients in Prostatin+ have been
shown to naturally:
- Help reduce swelling and inappropriate enlargement of the prostate
- Help improve urinary flow and bladder control
- Help protect against prostate cancer
In a study that used lower dosages of saw palmetto and nettle
that can be found in Prostatin+, over a 12 week period patients
reported a 25.8% increase in maximum urinary flow, a 29.0% increase in mean
urinary flow, a 44.7% reduction in residual urine, a 50.4% reduction in
nocturia, a 62.5% reduction in dysuria, and a 53.6% reduction in post-void
dribbling. Interestingly, the most popular conventional pharmaceuticals used
for BPH, whether for inhibiting hormones or a-adrenergic blockers (smooth
muscle relaxers), often demonstrate little change within the first six
months of therapy.
Saw palmetto is the leading herbal treatment
for BPH and among the best selling of all herbal products with annual U.S.
sales of more than $25 million, according to the American Botanical Council.
Many urologists endorse its use for patients with early symptoms. It is
indicated that saw palmetto contains phytomedicinals that inhibit the enzyme
5-a-reductase which helps to reduce the conversion of testosterone to
dihydro-testosterone, shrink glandular prostatic hyperplasia, and deobstruct
the urethra for easier urinary flow.
Nettle, or stinging nettle, acts
as a diuretic, pain reliever, and tonic. It is used for BHP, kidney problems,
allergies, arthritis, and helps with other inflammatory conditions. Stinging
nettle root is approved for internal use by the German Commission E for
difficulty in urination in benign prostatic hyperplasia stages 1 and 2.
Prostatin+
also contains African tree bark (pygeum africanum), an herb that is so popular
in Europe and Africa that the tree from which this treatment is harvested is
now on the endangered list. This herb is an anti-inflammatory and anti-edemic
that contains phytosterols proven useful in treating the symptoms and causes
of a swollen prostate. It also helps increase bladder elasticity.
