Puzzles for the Month

I. Here is part of the menu from the HMS cafeteria. I have my own way of calculating the prices. It has something to do with the letters of the alphabet.

HMS Cafeteria Menu

Hamburger......................$9.30
Cheeseburger..................$11.60
Hot Dog.......................$6.90
Pizza..........................?

The question is "How much does a pizza cost?" Email the answer to me. If someone in my class can answer this by the end of the month, I'll give them some extra credit points. If you are from another school, we'll email you a piece of pizza.

Be careful with this one! II. Your watch was correct at midnight, but then began to gain two and a half minutes every hour. It stopped two hours ago showing quarter past six in the morning. What should the watch be showing?

III. Which number comes next in this series of numbers? 1 2 3 5 11 13 ?

IV. If a circle is one, how many is an octagon?

The new postman has been given an important parcel to deliver to the house of Pearl Precious, the movie star. He doesn't know the exact number of the house, but the guys a the sorting office have given him a few clues. See if you can help him find the right house.

House 1..........#29......Has a cat.
House 2..........#27......milk is by the door
House 3..........#25......is blue.
House 4..........#23.....is a brick house.
House 5..........#21.....is very plain.
House 6..........#19......has beautiful flowers

Clues:

Pearl Precious has no pets.
The number of her house cannot be divided by 3.
Pearl does not have milk delived.
Pearl hates flowers.
The number of the house is not a prime number.

Which house is it?

If six minus one is worth nime and seven minus five is worth one. How much is six plus ten worth?
