1/100 scale VF-1 Gerwalk by Arii

Since I have the utmost disdain for Arii kits, I have lumped all of the modes into their type. I'll start with the perks. As you can see from above, the Arii kits have nice box art. Also, Arii kits are relatively easy to find, and dirt cheap (About 5 or 6 dollars a piece). They come with a nice painting guide, and are pretty easy to complete. A good beginners kits, model-maker fodder. Those got this kit about a 3. The review dropped 2 stars because of the following. The kit is made of really cheap plastic. I was glueing the spoilers on the leg, and the glue ate away half of it! The decals on the VF-1S aren't all that great. No stripes for the legs. The canopy is very cheap, and doesn't fit properly onto the cockpit. The hands are waaaaay too big. The gunpod is a joke. So is the head stowed beneath the cockpit. There is no pilot figure, yet the kit is designed to have the cockpit closed (I myself propped it up on it's back and made the canopy open. However, it required me to hold it for about 15 minutes. And, it's very, very small. About the size of a 1/144 scale Macross 7 Bandai kit. Pathetic. I only recommend this kit as a practice for something more worthwhile, or if you plan it display it behind a bunch of other models. It looks fine from far away, but on closer inspection it sucks.
