RESUME, LAWRENCE KNAUFF

I was born in Freeport, IL, graduated from Freeport High School with honors in Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Drafting.

Attended the University of Illinois for six years majoring in Engineering Physics and Industrial Design. My degree was in Industrial Design. I worked for the Physics Department during that six years doing drafting and design work for research in high energy physics, cryogenics, and superconductivy.

I have additional formal education at Oxford, University of Tennessee, and Pellissippi State. The course work included Chemical and Environmental Technology, Ceramics, Metals, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow, and Architecture.

After graduating I worked two years for Bastian-Blessing Co., R &D Department redesigning most of their Rego line of valves and other related products. At that time their annual sales were $35,000,000. My new designs reduced their annual cost by $3,000,000.

I moved to the University of Illinois as a Project Engineer , Assistant to the Superintendent of Sanitation and Safety, promoted to Acting Superintendent of Sanitation and Safety, then to Safety Officer, Office of the Chancellor at the Medical Center. After eight years, I resigned to move to Oak Ridge, TN to devote full time to a ceramics business which I had started earlier on a part time basis.

I joined the Mobile Steam Society which was developing a modern steam automobile. After a couple of years on their board of directors, I was elected President and have continued to serve in that capacity since.
