Since their organization in 1979, the Lost Creek Band has progressed to an excellent entertainment unit. Employing their own originality and creative flair, traditional bluegrass tunes are performed with integrity. The exemplified individuality and style in bluegrass music.
The band has been honored by being selected from open auditions to perform at Silver Dollar City and Dollywood (1983-87). During the 1995 and 1996 football seasons the band was chosen as the pre-game entertainment by the University of Tennessee for the "Worlds's Largest Tailgate Party." Other noteworthy performances have included opening for bluegrass greats including Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, The Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, The Country Gentlemen, The Lewis Family, Bluegrass Cardinals, Jim and Jesse, Doyle Lawson, and The Nashville Bluegrass Band. Additionally, they have performed with Janie Frickie and The Forester Sisters.
During the Summer of 1995, the Lost Creek Band was honored by Governor Don Sundquist choosing as his campaign song "Sundquist for Tennessee". This tune was composed and performed by the band at a fund raiser during the gubernatorial campaign. The have also entertained for congressmen, state agencies, and business conventions. They contribute to their home community through their charitable participation in the annual March of Dimes concert in Jefferson City, TN.
Blue Horizon was the first album released (1984). It was followed by Dixie Skies (1988) and LBC III (1993). Each contains original and traditional cuts. Many have received radio air play in and around the Knoxville, TN. area.
