My Moore family starts with a Henry Moore married to an Elizabeth ?. I have no other information on these people. They begat a son named John Moore, born 24 Jan 1812 in Lancaster Co., PA. He died on 11 Jun 1899 in McCoy's Ferry, Washington, MD and was buried in Clearspring, Washington, MD. John was married to Sarah Mahellen/Catherine Mulhollen, born in PA. and also to Cecelia Wolford. John & Sarah/Catherine had four sons and one daughter: William W., John H., James F. and Margaret Virginia.

The other son, Mentor Purdue, was my Great Grandfather. He was b 24 May 1840 PA, m Rebecca M. Robinson 19 Dec. 1867. He died 25 Jan 1926 in McCoy's Ferry, Washington, MD. Rebecca was b 23 March 1848 in Green Springs, Washington, MD and died 20 May 1908, same place.

Mentor and Rebecca two sons and four daughters: Joseph Luther, John Alexander, Urilla Florence, Anna Maragret and Grace Leona. Their daughter Emma Custis is my Grandmother.

Emma was b 24 Jun 1876, McCoy's Ferry, Washington, MD d in 1945/1946 in Havre De Grace, Harford, MD. She m Clarence Richardson Bachtell on 25 Dec. 1895. (See Bachtell page).
