Todays Troopers go thru a grueling 24 week Academy. Along with hundreds of hours of class room training they are taught weapons, defensive driving, and defensive tactics.

The Troopers of today perform many Functions in addition to Trafic Enforcement, Accident Investigation, and Assisting Local agencies.

And are trained and prepared for Bomb Disposal.

Trp. John Mann
1959-2001

Trp. John Mann, who was both a friend and co-worker, was struck and killed on January 1, 2001 by a hit and run driver. Trp Mann was fighting with and attempting to arrest a Car Jacking Subject when he was struck.
John, you have left a great hole in the thin blue line, you will be missed greatly and remembered with much Pride.


Trp. John Robert Davis
1951-2001

Trp. John Robert Davis was involved in a Single vehicle Accident on March 17, 2001. Trp. Davis had been working a Motor Vehicle Accident and had just left the scene when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve on a dark back country road. Trp Davis died as a result of the injuries received in that accident.
Trp. Davis was a fine example of all that is good. He will be greatly missed.
