The HARDIN family has been in the Piedmont section of North Carolina for more than 200 years. Tracing lineage in this family has been nearly impossible since there apparently were two or more unrelated families in this area prior to the American Revolution. One family that remained there was that of Thomas HARDIN. It has not been determined who his father was.
Thomas HARDIN married Mary HAMRICK and reared a large family in the area of old Rutherford County which is now part of Cleveland County.
