An East Tennessee Corner

Hi, Thanks for stopping by, but enter carefully, this is a test site -- begun on a long, cold winter evening, when too much alone-ness makes even "normal" people do unusual things. SORRY, BUT SOMEHOW ALL THE BACKGROUNDS HAVE DISAPPEARED! HOWEVER, MY PHOTOS REMAIN. I've been attempting to get the backgrounds back, but it's been awhile since I worked on this, and I'm stumbling around in the dark. If you'd like to check out the photos, you're welcome to continue. I've gone back and attempted to change all the text to black so it's legible. I hope to have the problems fixed before too very long.

On those long, lonesome nights, thoughts turn to warmth and sunshine, and just how far away is Summer anyway?

Summertime in East Tennessee means mountains, cool streams, butterflies on wild flowers, and so many lightning bugs they look like stars as dusk darkens to night.

Lightning bugs or fireflies --- delicate marvels that go blink in the night.

On this site are photographs of my world (the daily as well as a few travel shots) . . . I hope you enjoy them.

Over The River To North Carolina

I took this photograph in August 1999 from a hilltop overlooking the Nolichucky River, which is hidden by the row of trees seen through the opening in the fence.

My little corner in East Tennessee is just 15 miles from the North Carolina line.

Swallowtail Butterfly On Butterfly Weed

I snapped this photo in the summer of 1998, then didn't have anywhere to display it until I ran across Angelfire and decided to play around to see if I could build a web site.

Voila!

This photo was taken in an area known as the Ottway community of Greene County, Tenn.

New Photo For Column

This photograph of me was taken in September 2002.

That morning, I had thought perhaps I was having a "good hair day" and considered a new photo for my column. I had almost forgotten about it by the time I got to work, then Hala, one of the women in the office (it's been YEARS since we've been girls) also suggested I should have my picture made.

I'd enjoy hearing from you. As of March 2004, I've added pages and photos. Now I'm concerned that there are too many pages, and perhaps the site is cumbersome. Would you let me know, please?
