AGREEMENT made this (day) of (month) in the (year) of by/between ® Capitol Management & Talent Group located at 1214 16th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212-2902 (herein referred to as the marketing representative) and "Name of Songwriter Here" (herein referred to as the "The Songwriter").
WHEREAS, the Songwriter is desirous of pursuing a professional songwriting career and has prepared a selection of appropriate commercial music for presentation to the major label publishers (Such labels are recognized as BMG-Arista, BMG-RCA, BMG-BNA, EMI-Capitol, MCA-Universal/Polygram, Mercury/Motown or MCA Records, WARNER-Atlantic, Elektra, or WARNER Records, and SONY-Columbia, or SONY-Epic) or major independent record labels (MIRLS) whose total record sales exceed $1 million dollars a year (Curb, Platinum Plus Universal, Dreamcatcher, Dreamworks, Rounder, Lyric Street, Disney Music, Handleman Subsidiaries, K-Tel & others), and other lesser publishing enterprises,
WHEREAS, the Songwriter recognizes how important the presentation of his unique, exceptional and extraordinary ability and talent in the field of songwriting to those labels artists, managers, and producers becomes,
NOW THEREFORE, the professional songwriter who recognizes the importance of eliciting favorable publicity, routing, and presentation of their unique talent, requires the services of (agent's name) & ® Capitol Management & Talent Group of Nashville, Tennessee to serve as their marketing representative for the next 6 months. The marketing representative will present to the above mentioned labels the unique talents of the above named songwriter during this period of time for the sum of $3,500.00 to be paid in full at the time this contract commences.
BECAUSE, the Songwriter realizes that it is necessary to seek specialized help to supervise, guide and direct the presentation of his talent, as well as attend to certain functions on the songwriter's behalf that would otherwise be looked upon as inappropriate for a songwriter without the aid and assistance of a "songplugger," to make such presentations, therefore, for the consideration present, the marketing representative agrees to make no less than a total of 5 major label presentations (BMG, EMI, MCA, SONY & WARNER) and a total of 14 presentations to the major label subsidiaries, and MIRLS (Major Independent Record Labels) on the Songwriter's behalf, during the required contract and in addition other presentations as required by the local "pitch" sheets to those artists/producers/labels seeking material from outside sources.
