- SOUND: Imagine the greatest bass tone that you've ever heard and then multiply that by 10. This bass totally stomps all others I've ever played into the ground. The Dual Coil Aero pickups definitely shake the room with great clarity and punch. There is no muddy bass tone to be found here. The Demeter Preamp adds unparalleled control over the sound produced by this bass producing an almost endless variety of tones. Combined with the 4-way coil selector, this bass fits the bill for any playing environment.
- PLAYABILITY: This bass essentially plays itself. The single cutaway design has an amazingly smooth transition from the low neck to the high neck. Although it may seem intimidating, it's no different than any other bass. In some ways, I prefer it to regular bass necks. It has a more solid feel when playing high. The neck is also very thin and very fast. I've never played a faster bass. A bass of this quality has made me a better player, and I feel that I can express myself completely with it. I feel hindered in no way when playing this bass.
- PRICE: Compared to the prices of the other high-end bass manufacturers, Chris must be out of his mind to make basses this good at such a low price. Get one fast before he realizes what he's missing!! It is refreshing, however, to find a man making such quality instruments at such reasonable prices. Thanks.
- APPERANCE: The bass looks as amazing as it plays, sounds, and feels. One of the most amazing buckeye burl tops was used in making this bass, and to this day has dropped the jaw of every person it has come into contact with, including yours truly. What a rush it is to play an instrument that looks this good, much less that sounds this good. The matching wood pickup covers were seemlessly constructed and add unimaginable beauty to the bass, along with the matching wooden knobs. I've had people tell me that the wooden knob and pickup option just plucked their heart strings. They had never seen attention to detail such as that and remarked that they had to get one! The fretboard LEDs were even more icing on the cake as the dark blue lit up the contrasting ebony fingerboard. Chris will be a busy man after this, no doubt. Word's getting out...Fast!
- CONSTRUCTION: This bass is solidly made. A mahogany body is joined to a 5-piece maple and walnut neck-through design. The joints are as smooth as can be and just beg to be glided around on. No question about it. Professional in every aspect. I even had some custom options for the neck and fretboard, and Chris came through without a doubt. In some ways, Chris made this bass better than even I imagined it would turn out.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE: In spite of a busy schedule, Chris and The Low End were there to answer any questions that I had, along with giving me updates on how my bass was coming along during the production process. No complaints. Since there is nothing wrong with the bass, I haven't had to utilize the customer service part yet.
- OVERALL: I purchased a Benavente on blind faith. I had never heard nor played one, and trust me when I tell you, it was worth every penny, and it was worth every nervous moment I had until I finally had the opportunity to play it. When I was reading reviews about them and saw people commenting that they would purchase another Benavente before calling the police if their first one was stolen, I thought they were kidding. Now I understand completely, and I totally agree! Perfect in all aspects, I can't wait to get another one. Keep up the good work.
- Take care, Cameron McLaughlin
