April is
Autism Awareness Month
Hello and Welcome to my website about my son Todd who is autistic. He is the most precious gift from God I could have asked for. Todd is a 10 year old precious child. He was diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2 with autism. Todd Spring 2000
"Autism impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Children and adults with autism typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions and leisure or play activities. The disorder makes it hard for them to communicate with others and relate to the outside world. They may exhibit repeated body movements (hand flapping, rocking), unusual responses to people or attachments to objects and resist any changes in routines. In some cases, aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior may be present."

Prayer request's for autism
Prayer for Parents and Others Caring for Those with Autism
Lord,
This person you have entrusted me to care for is autistic. Help me to
teach him/her:
how to pray, get accurate information, how to laugh, self-discipline,
self-respect, honesty, patience, all about love.
Lord, I am aware that I cannot give what I do not have. Therefore I
commit to caring for myself
physically, mentally, and emotionally to the best of my ability.
Sometimes the pressures of this world fall heavy upon my shoulders Lord.
This child can be so
demanding, so needy, so challenging, that I sometimes feel I have little
or nothing left to give the
rest of my family.
Lord, please give me strength and stamina and patience to raise this
child/care for this person. I realize You have called me to the highest
assignment in this world and therefore you do expect my best. I will try
not to let You down.
Lord help me to always see the good in ______. Let me always be reminded
of how much more my life is being enhanced by this child of God. Let me
remember that You chose me to care for him/her, for Your special reasons
that I can't understand right now, but that it makes me very special to
You for accepting the job.
Surround me with good friends who understand and support rather than
judge and pity. Help me take it one day at a time, and on really bad days
- one hour at a time.
Lord, send the angels to protect my child when I am not around.
Lastly, because of the greatest fear of all parents who have a disabled
child, when my time is up, let me have a sense of security that _____
will be cared for by someone who loves him/her as
much as me.
In Jesus' Name I Pray,
Amen
