Obscure Maltese Poet ~15th century
In 1480, the Navarros of Spain came to Malta. A
certain Navarro met the Florentine mother of Salvaza
Navarro and married her. Salvaza was born in the
late 15th century and was raised on the island of
Malta. Her name is Spanish and Florentine, as
her mother wanted her daughter to have part of
her heritage in a name.
