Comparable Bible Text to Parable 20, the Gospel According To Thomas
(20)The desciples said to Jesus, "Tellus what the kingdom of heaven is like."
He said to them, "it is like a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a
shelter for the birds of the sky."
Matt:13:31-32 31-Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed,
which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32-Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a
tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
Psychological Translation
As low as the mustard seed is in the scheme of things, it creates great growth (personal growth) when tilled in the soil (unconscious) and cultivated. When it is ready for harvest the bird (spirit-nature) will place it onto the branches (into consciousness).
