Comparable Bible Text to Parable 16, the Gospel According To Thomas
(16)Jesus said, "Men think, perhaps, that it is peace I have come to cast upon the world. They do not know that it is dissension which I have
come to cast upon the earth: Fire, sword, and war. For there will be five in a house: three will be against two, and two against three, the father
against the son, the son against the father. And they will stand solitary.
Luke 12:51-53
51-Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52-For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53-The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter,
and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law
against her mother in law.
Psychological Translation
Jesus represents the unconscious (where your true identity resides), which when ignored will divide you and cause conflict. The siblings mentioned represent aspects of your personality which are in conflict.
