I was born in Memphis, TN on a Tuesday morning at 5:26am at the Women's Hospital (now TheMed) in downtown Memphis. I was christened DeShon Lopez LaVon Gleese Brown by my grandfather, Elder James LaVon Gleese,III, at Providence A.M.E. Church. My parents are (now divorced) Danny Lopez Brown and Judy LaVonne Gleese Brown. I have one younger sister, Ms. Stephanie Leonia Janice Brown, 25.

I am now a member of the Lord's Tabernacle Holiness Church in the M-town.

I attended Alcy Elemetary all through elementary (k-6), Colonial CAPA Junior High (now a middle school) 7th-9th, and Overton CAPA High 10th-12th. At Colonial, I took art my 7th- & 8th-grade years and Choir my 9th-grade year. My choir director was Mrs. Pamela Williams. We called her Momma. She was so cool and taught us a lot. I had so much fun at Colonial. I miss those days. At Overton, I was in the choir all three years. I loved it. My director was the late Dr. Lulah M. Hedgeman. She was like a third grandmother & second mother to us more than some of us would like to admit. She enstilled in us so muh discipline and love for music that we carry these traits to other areas i our lives which makes us better people in life. Her favorite word, next to discipline, was THINK!!. She had that painted on the top of the wall in the front of the classroom-just in case she had to remind us every now and then. I miss her.

Now I recently graduated from LOC. It was cool there. I joined a fraternity. I've held many billets here including Freshman Class President (1997-98), Senior Vice-President (2003-04), Concert Choir President (2002-04), LOC Pan-Hellenic Council President (1999-2000), and various fraternity positions. And, there are some of the most beautiful black women you'll ever find. If you're looking for an institution of higher learning where you can get that close attention that you know will help you get through the hard years, something you won't find at any university, go to LeMoyne-Owen. There is no discrimination. They are open to all nationalities and ethnicities. If you're interested, go visit thier website at www.LeMoyne-Owen.edu
Speaking of beautiful women, I've had the previledge of meeting the love of my life there at LeMoyne. Her name was Tanisha C. Mack. She's a senior majoring in Vocal Music Performance. Isn't she lovely. We got married on the blessed day of September 11, 2004.

We now have a 5-month old son named DeShon Mack Brown, II. Looks like me doesn't he? we're just too proud of him. Well, I'll hit you guys later. Peace
