The Food Guide Pyramid
A Internet Webquest on Healthy Living
How do you feel? This is a question we often hear when we are sick. However, when was the last time you asked yourself this question when you weren't sick? You always hear people talk about eating healthier, but what does that really mean? How do you know if you are eating healthy? Does it mean just eating more fruits and vegetables, or is it more than that? The U.S. Department of Agriculture defines a “healthy diet” as one that provides enough of each essential nutrient, contains a variety of foods from all of the basic food groups, provides adequate energy to maintain a healthy weight, and does not contain excess fat, sugar, salt or alcohol. If you choose to accept this task, you will discover just what a healthy diet is, and you can start eating healthier.
