   Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center is a wildlife refuge and a shuttle launching site. It is home to the shuttle fleet made up of the Columbia, the Discovery, the Atlantis, and the Endeavour as well as the sanctuary for endangered species such as Bald Eagles, Sea Turtles,  Manatees, and Alligators. Two concepts that are seldom mentioned in the same sentence are now united in the Kennedy Space Center.
The Kennedy Space Center is located in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It was here that the Voyagers 1&2 left our Earth in 1977 and they are still in space today, further than 68 times the Sun-Earth distance. It is also here, on Merritt's Island, that about 134,000 acres of land is dedicated to preserving our wildlife.
The Kennedy Space Center is a place of many facets, enjoyable for many different kinds of extremests. Visit their home here:  Kennedy Home Page
