Immigration passmark stays the same

The passmark for the General Skills Category of the New Zealand Immigration Programme will remain at the level set on 1 January 2002, Immigration Minister Lianne Dalziel said today.

"I have reviewed the passmark for the period 1 April 2002 to 30 June 2002, and I have decided to roll over the passmark at 25 points for the General Skills Category," Lianne Dalziel said.

"Likewise, the passmark for the Investor category within the Skilled/Business stream, remains at 12 points.

The decision last month to allow an additional 3,500 migrants under the Skilled/Business Stream, has allowed us to maintain stability in the passmark, despite Skill/Business approvals running at 67% of the total programme.
