After I heard this CD, I was amazed by a few of their tracks and so I set out to buy one of their earlier CD’s “Undertow”. This CD is probably my favourite tool CD because it doesn’t have a bunch of junk ever so often that get you out of the listening mood. The most interesting thing I can think of about Tool is where they said they got their name. Danny (the drummer) said that the band's name stands for how they want their music to be a tool to aid in understanding lachrymology. Lachrymology if defined would stand for the study of tears. The word apparently doesn’t exist and was designed to entertain the band and the fans. Tool was formed in 1990 and is still making a huge influence on the fans as we all await a new album release. This could take awhile because Maynard James Keenan the lead singer is in another band called A Perfect Circle. A Perfect Circle released its latest CD last year so Tool can now start focusing on a new release. !!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!................................Deftones – Deftones I really got into last year. Unfortunately, I started with their best CD and each one I bought after it was a huge disappointment. The first Deftones song I heard is my favourite as well so it’s like two bad things. I really heard of Deftones because I found a Deftones song while searching for tool. Maynard was in this song as sort of backup vocals and that is why it appeared in the search. The song is called Passenger and is one of my all time favourite songs. I bought their newest release to suffer a huge disappointment beca use it wasn’t artistically creative and was literally screaming.I think I might have liked maybe one song. I'd say something as an introductory sentence but I won't for the fear of being judged. Nothing scares me more then angry angry Calgarians. I am just a friendly peaceful person who is bored out of their mind. Well now that that introductory sentence has successfully concluded I can now talk about what a great person I am. Mr popular if you will? Har Har Har. Let me see how can I be Mr popular if I am lacking friends. Well you see this is where you come in. If you be my friend/fan then I will be popular. I actually lied I do have friends but then when I talk to someone on here it would have been a pleasant surprise that I'm not a complete loser. You see I don't want people to get their hopes up and everything. I guess you could call me a freak because I am not like the other mall rats. I suppose I mighta been a mall rat if any of my friends liked the mall. I just roam around Kensington although it is on the other side of the Calgary. Now onto talking about my name "Xorcist" yes I do realize it is lame. That is the sole reason why I picked it and I find it funny. Let's see onto my musical tastes. Ahem I am personally a heavy metal fan although I listen to most music. Actually the other day when I was listening to my play list I realized that none of the songs on it you could really dance to. So I guess you could say I don't like dance music. Ok ummm bands then Tool, Deftones, Godsmack, Pink Floyd (not so much Pink Floyd but oh well), Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Sage Fracis. Sage Francis I like because they are a hilarious rap band and I don't know if they being stupid on purpose or trying to be serious. Well the last thing I would have to say about myself is that I enjoy snowboarding. I am not very good but I hope to be landing jumps soon. I have a k2 Alterra board Lamar bindings and Sim boots. This band I first heard a few years ago when they released the song “awake”. This band does not have any artistic genius but make songs that you just can’t stop listening to especially if you’re in an angry mood. Last year I bought their newest CD faceless and it was an instant success. It was in my player for a month give or take without being replaced. Godsmack does not have amazing solos, drums, bass, or vocals really but as a group, they are amazing. I’d say my favourite Godsmack song would be “I *beep*ing Hate You” because when I first heard it I was going through a time of many liars. Godsmack is a relatively new band and has been around since 1995. !!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................Dream Theater – Dream Theater I first heard in the summer when I saw a song that somehow got to my playlist called Caught In A Web. This song is one of my least favourite songs by Dream Theater and that surprised me because it is a great song. Since the summer, I have bought about four of their CD’s plus one was a double CD. I love all of those CD’s and can’t get enough of them. My favourite song by Dream Theater would probably be The Glass Prison or In The Name of God. This band was first formed in 1985 and just released a new CD that is mind-blowing. I love that CD so much I have made copies for all of my friends. !!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................!!!!!...........................................................................................................Iron Maiden – Iron Maiden is one of the oldest bands in my top 5 and I know very little about the band. Everyone has heard of Iron Maiden but I actually heard them for the first time the Sunday/Monday before New Year’s at like 1:00 in the morning on CJSW as they did a countdown of the best metal in 2003. This song was ranked number two by one of the minions whose name I forgot. The song was Rainmaker and the album is known as The Dance Death. Within a week after hearing this song I ran to the nearest HMV and bought the CD. I was extremely upset when I found it had copy protection so I could not copy for all of my friends. Iron Maiden was formed in 1976 and are still making amazing music. I’m not sure if they were making amazing music before but this CD was sure amazing in my opinion.
