In a really really tight and long match Andy lost to Marat Safin. Andy won the first (6-2) and fourth (7-6(0)) set and the 2nd (6-3) and 3th (7-5) set were for the unseeded Russian fighting his way back to the top of the ranking. Andy started off as the better player in the deciding set, but at 4 all Marat Safin broke Andy and in the next game he won the match, though Andy had chances to re-break. But still it was a good tourney.
