1/21/03

It's that joyous time of year again...The PMEA District 9 Band festival will begin tomorrow. To all of you attending i wish you the best of luck.... and most of all that you don't see a large gray mullet in the audition room. New classes started today, which means that I no longer have band or chours. Now i'm stuck in the god-forsaken flex band..dah. The exitement is overbearing...may the Dallas Posse rise again. I can't wait for the karaoke. PMEA RULES!!!
Note: The concert is on Saturday January 25th at 2 P.M. @ GAR high school.

1/7/03

Only one more day til district chorus.... ouch. Well everyone was kinda short on time so i guess we'll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone tryin out....well not everyone...but the people i know and want to make it. I hope i get roomed with someone.....preferably someone i know. Well anyway lots of work to do to prepare... GOOD LUCK.
Laugh of the Day : When Matt burst out saying "I'M KIIIDDDIING" in the middle of band when Hunter called the the percussion section a bunch of molto retards.

1/1/03

Wow...2003....that sounds weird, eh? Well everyone I hope you all had great holidays and such. I slacked off and didn't update the site for like a month... oops. However the past week of doing absolutely nothing was the greatest and more. Sadly its all comming to an end tomorrow. Anyway... HaPpY NEw YeaR!! Now i can find interesting non-christmas music to put on the site.
BAND NEWS: District chorus starts in but a mere week. Also, don't forget bout the district band readthrough on Saturday the 4th @ Scranton U.

12/8/02

The Holiday Concert was today!! All in all it went pretty well.. i guess. Jazz band was kinda funky and stuff but eh... no one really notices but us anyway. I just thought I'd also mention how Dorkwood and i almost ran into Hunter as we were gettin gifts for Palf and him at the mall yesterday. Oh.. it was oh so scary. It's sad to think that we'll never play slieghride again... but life goes on. In other news... we still don't have our districts music... GRRRRRR! I also apologize to our Jewish friends as I didn't post any messages during Chanukah. However, i'm saying it now. HAPPY CHANUKAH!
Next concert on the agenda: Back Mtn. Chorus Concert @ the Dorthy Dickson Dart Ctr. on 12/17.

11/28/02

Happy turkey day!! Well as most of you know, i really do hate turkey, but that's besides the point. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday and say not to eat too much of that damn turkey. In band and news we have a concert in about a week or so (the 8th of December). This is a combined concert with the chorus and should take like 5 hours, eek. The district scores are now final (not like we really got a chance to make sure they were right in the first place). I'll try to get pics up over the break, so check back.

11/18/02

WEEEE the results from district band are now in (unofficially until a week has passed, however)! We have gotten 8 people into Districts from Dallas. That's pretty damn good. Special Congrats to Shortwood on his 1st chair placement. That's quite a feat mikey, congrats.

11/16/02

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TOMORROW AT DISTRICT AUDITIONS!!!!!!!! Do it up everyone!

11/12/02

Ohhh man.... what a blast band football was. You've got to bet you're butt that we'll be doin it again in the near future. The field was oh so rainy and muddy and near impossible to run on. But it was all in good fun and what a muddy mess it was. Yes, we even took some pictures of this crazy event, so keep a look out for them, they'll be on as soon as possible.

11/10/02

Well everyone... that's all. With the defeat of the football team on Friday and with the end of ACC's, marching band has officially ended. (Hallelujah!!?!?) Now we just have to figure out what to do with ourselves now that we have our lives back. For those of you who care.. we ended the season in a respectable 21st place with the score of an 83.45. I'd like to say thanks to all the seniors for a year of hard work and dedication. It's gonna be rough without them all next year. All we can do now is practice our district solos and wait for those great movies and pictures to come in to remember this magical day by. Peace.. and don't forget bout the day-o-fun planned for Tuesday.

11/5/02

Plans are being made for an after season day-o-fun. Next tuesday (the 12th, thats a week from today) is teacher conferences. We plan on having some happenin games of football and ultimate. We will play some games of two hand touch for all you girly-men out there. Be there or be a hexagon.

11/4/02

Well the good news is in we have made ACC's in 22nd place with a score of 86.9!!! I remember makin 2 updates but looks like i forgot to save them. Well all our hard work has payed off...we get to go to acc's. Now that we're there, let's kick some butt..we can last another week or so.
In other news it has been confirmed that we are getting COACH BUSES for the ride down to Selinsgrove on Friday. This is like the first time in Dallas Band History that we get good buses for a football game. Damn it feels good to be a bando.

10/30/02

Well the results are in. After a night full of fun, we only moved up 2 places, sadly. We're currently ranked 22nd with a score of 84.9. You know what that means.... we gotta kick it in the ass at chapters (in the words of Mr. "H" The annual beat lehman bonfire was held during another night full of snow and coldness. It feels like we're up in mother russia, i sware! well anywho it was same old same old... but i must say the snowball fight following it was loads of fun. By the way... the school year is 1/4 of the way done everybody.

10/29/02

Well everyone i must say...tonight was the craziest freakin night in band history as far back as any of us can remember. Even Palf says that shes never had a combo like we had all in one night. This night at Bloomsburg was a once in a lifetime opportunity i must say. We marched on a snow covered field (which mostly was a solid layer of mud by the time we got out there...and the guard was rollin round in it, cause they like it that way.) Well just when we thought conditions were the worst they could possibly all the lights on the field went out right before we played our first note.... Let's just be thankful it wasn't a few seconds later. Thankfully the show went pretty well considering the circumstances and no one fell down or died or anythin.

10/25/02

Well our weekend started off with a bang! What a crazy night... some ghetto kid tried to pick a fight with me and we beat Berwick 20-19 in the 2nd OT for the first time ever in Dallas history!! All this madness took place during a torrential downpour. We even had to bring out those god-forsaken blueberries hated by all (except Matt Noble who thinks they're the lastest fashion statement). Well we left after the 4th quarter which was slightly disappointing. I would have sacrificed my security amongst the Berwick thugs to see the cheerleaders diving accross the very very muddy field with the football team. Well tomorrow, the real fun begins. Off to Bloomsburg we go....yaaayyy.

10/21/02

Well ladies and gentlemen...this is the week where we make it or break it. 2 big competitions this weekend with our last shot to catch up to the big guys. we can do it... just listen to John Belushi's advice on that one. Congrats to all my brothas and sistas who made district chorus!! 11 and 1 alternate...thats like the best ever. Lets get some rockin song for cabaret and beat out the blue ridge guys!!
P.S. I had to change the colors cause matt christianized the web page too much (even though he's jewish)...well and the fact that it hurts people's eyes.

10/02/02

What is this?!? Did anyone notice something extraordinary about today? How bout not just a full 5 minute break, but a whopping 7 minute and 17 hundreth of a second break! Who would have thought the day would come where we get a full 5 minute break. Mark this one in the history books fellas (it may never come again).

9/29/02

Well boyees, our score at WVW was a 74.45 after the 0.5 penalty. 2nd place under Pittston. Its decent, but we really need to buckle down these next couple weeks and come out with a bang at our competition like we did last year. Let's haul some major A and make ACC's with some room to spare, eh??? Let's goo!!!
Also congrats to the DAP on their best percussion award!

9/27/02

IMPORTANTE!!!!!!! Tomorrow's game has been postponed due to all this dang rain we've been gettin from that Isidore character. The updated Schedule is:
Saturday: nothing, sleep in dang it.
Sunday: competition- report time is 10:00 a.m.
Monday: football game- ACT 80 day, report time 1 p.m.

9/25/02

Just for the record.... our 72.3 (after the one point penalty) at Lehman was okay... we may have won... but we only beat one band. WVW is in just 4 short days. We're competing against Pittston, others, and maybe even LEHMAN!!! We still got lots and lots of work to do, but for the mean time put on a smiley face and smack your nearest underclassman at tomorrow's practice!

9/23/02

Who's number one? Were number one!! How's 'bout a 72.3? Huh? That do anything for ya? We did that one for Dan-o, (who were all glad to hear is doing better.)

9/9/02

Well funfest is out of the way. At least we didn't have to wear the jackets. And god bless the loving band parents with their water. All things considered, I thought it went over fairly well.

8/29/02

Our marching show has now been officially titled "Winter Holiday". There are no longer any references to Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, Ramadan, ect. With the route Hunter was going with his Russian Christmas, perhaps it is better this way. Who knows what the props could have been. Maybe some stolen KGB files??

8/27/02

Wow...the first day of school... Well in band news we now have the largest concert band ever. I think Hunter has successfully scared every single member of concert band away from marching...ever. He achieved this with his long winded speeches on ...everything.. and his new rule that "Act of God" emergencies must now be accompanied by a signature from the big man, Himself. In other news, we have some new retarded lunch system in which some lunches are sometimes classified as being "gourmet". Drinks also followed the usual yearly rate of inflation and went up another ten cents to $1.10. In the most ridiculous attempt ever, the school district has made an attempt to stop teenage obesity by stopping soda sales in the Dallas High School. What gives??!?

8/14/02

Hello and welcome, or if you will, greetings and salutations. Well it's that time again for a brand spanking new marching band season. Those long restless nights of summer have now come to an end. Our days are now dictated by Big Red as he is more commonly known. The page is under heavy construction, just like many of the roads around Dallas. It is just getting started, and yes, we know it sucks. But give us time, it will get better. Please feel free to email suggestions and/or Top Ten ideas to....

Dustin& Matt
