Nature of work :
Working with a team of
multinational engineers in the daily operation and
maintenance of Hydrocarbon Oil and Natural Gas Processing
Plants.
Primary responsibilities are as
follows:
- Design, Procure, Install and
commission new control systems to enhance the daily
operation, maintenance and safety of the combustion gas
turbines (CGTs), NGL Process Gas Compressors,
refrigeration gas Compressors, Stripper columns,
Deethanizer columns, associated process and utility
equipment.
- Prepare technical
specifications, review and accept quotations from various
manufacturers for upgrading or revamping the existing
Instrumentation and control systems.
- Review detailed design packages
for new projects, prepare detailed scope of work,
engineering standards and project proposals for new
facilities.
- Trouble shooting and directing
the maintenance and operating personnel in the daily
operation of the plant facilities.
- Prepare study reports, design
basis scoping paper (DBSP), Project proposal and detailed
engineering design packages as required in order to
improve the operation, safety and economy of the existing
facilities.
Fields of expertise are as

- Developing of Piping and
Instrument Drawings (P&IDs), detailed Scope of
work, Instrument Databases, Instrument Installation

the process systems and preparing emergency shutdown

commissioning of GE MARK V Combustion Gas Turbine
control systems (retrofitting 1940s SULZER
CGTs with GE Mark V CGT controls was done recently)
including the Fisher Provox system DCS interface.
- Compressor Anti-surge control
and load sharing control systems:
Hands on experience in the
detailed design, installation, and commissioning of
Compressor Controls Corporations (CCC) or Micon Gas
Compressors anti-surge and load sharing control systems.
- Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and
Emergency Isolation systems:
Hands on
experience in the Triplex/Triconex ESD system
hardware/software design and configuration, detailed
installation design, installation, and commissioning of
TRIPLEX and TRICONEX TMR ESD control for CGT or steam
Turbines, Pumps and other process systems.
- Control Valve Sizing and
Selection for various applications including anti-surge
controls:
Hands on experience in the
detailed sizing, selection, design, installation, and
commissioning of FISHER, Masoneilan, CCI, Serck,
Neles, control valves.
- Safety relief Valve Sizing and
Selection for various process applications based on the
API RP 520/521:
Hands on experience in the
detailed sizing, selection, design, installation, and
commissioning of Dresser- Consolidated valves.
- Design, Procurement,
Installation and Commissioning of Process Measurement and
Control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
specifically Fisher Provox DCS for:
- Gas, Liquid and Steam flow
and pressure using orifice meters, turbine meters,
insertion meters, etc.
- Level-using D/P cells,
level-trolls, ultrasonic level transmitters, etc.
- Temperature monitoring
using RIS systems for Rotating equipment and process.
- Vibration monitoring using
Bentley Nevada, SKF and RIS Systems.
- Analyzer systems, to
measure gas and liquid composition,
- Integration of third party
systems such as CCC, Triconex, Triplex, Bentley/SKF
vibration monitoring systems, ABB gas chromatography,
etc. with the Fisher Provox DCS system.
