Experience:

• Retrofitted several GE and Sulzer Combustion Gas Turbine’s controls with GE Mark V controls which has improved the reliability and reduced the manpower requirement.

• Upgraded several Process gas compressor’s and steam turbine controls using the CCC Series 4 control systems and Trainview software workstations.

• Upgraded several Process gas compressor’s and turbine’s condition monitoring and protection systems using the Bentley Nevada and SKF monitoring systems.

• Upgraded the gas processing plant’s Process control system to Fisher Provox DCS systems.

• Upgraded the Plant Emergency Shutdown (ESD) protection systems using the Triplex and Triconex TMR systems

• Upgraded the Plant’s personnel protection systems using the smart H2S/LEL gas detection and warning systems.

• Prepared the operating manuals for the operators.

• Worked in the project during the DBSP, FSD, and detailed design stages of the major BI’s. Worked with the commissioning and start-up teams for the project.

• During the project development, conducted factory acceptance tests for the DCS control systems and Turbine control systems at their USA and Europe facilities.

Nature of work :

Primary responsibilities are as follows:

• Design, Procure, Install and commission new control systems to enhance the daily operation, maintenance and safety of the combustion gas turbines (CGT’s), NGL Process Gas Compressors, refrigeration gas Compressors, Stripper columns, Deethanizer columns, associated process and utility equipment.

• Prepare technical specifications, review and accept quotations from various manufacturers for upgrading or revamping the existing Instrumentation and control systems.

• Review detailed design packages for new projects, prepare detailed scope of work, engineering standards and project proposals for new facilities.

• Trouble shooting and directing the maintenance and operating personnel in the daily operation of the plant facilities.

• Prepare study reports, design basis scoping paper (DBSP), Project proposal and detailed engineering design packages as required in order to improve the operation, safety and economy of the existing facilities.

Fields of expertise are as follows:

• Developing of Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s), detailed Scope of work, Instrument Databases, Instrument Installation Schedules, Specification sheets, Instrument Loop Drawings, associated detailed design drawings and Operating Instructions Manuals for new or modified facilities.

• Conducting Hazop analysis for the process systems and preparing emergency shutdown logic and process control logic for processing systems.

• Combustion Gas turbine control and Steam turbine controls:

Hands on experience in the detailed design, installation, and commissioning of GE MARK V Combustion Gas Turbine control systems (retrofitting 1940’s SULZER CGT’s with GE Mark V CGT controls was done recently) including the Fisher Provox system DCS interface.

• Compressor Anti-surge control and load sharing control systems:

Hands on experience in the detailed design, installation, and commissioning of Compressor Controls Corporation’s (CCC) or Micon Gas Compressors anti-surge and load sharing control systems.

• Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Emergency Isolation systems:

Hands on experience in the Triplex/Triconex ESD system hardware/software design and configuration, detailed installation design, installation, and commissioning of TRIPLEX and TRICONEX TMR ESD control for CGT or steam Turbines, Pumps and other process systems.

• Control Valve Sizing and Selection for various applications including anti-surge controls:

Hands on experience in the detailed sizing, selection, design, installation, and commissioning of FISHER, Masoneilan, CCI, Serck, Neles, control valves.

• Safety relief Valve Sizing and Selection for various process applications based on the API RP 520/521:

Hands on experience in the detailed sizing, selection, design, installation, and commissioning of Dresser- Consolidated valves.

• Design, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning of Process Measurement and Control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) specifically Fisher Provox DCS for:

- Gas, Liquid and Steam flow and pressure using orifice meters, turbine meters, insertion meters, etc.

- Level-using D/P cells, level-trolls, ultrasonic level transmitters, etc.

- Temperature monitoring using RIS systems for Rotating equipment and process.

- Vibration monitoring using Bentley Nevada, SKF and RIS Systems.

- Analyzer systems, to measure gas and liquid composition,

- Integration of third party systems such as CCC, Triconex, Triplex, Bentley/SKF vibration monitoring systems, ABB gas chromatography, etc. with the Fisher Provox DCS system.

Familiar with main frame and personnel computers such as,

• INTERGRAPH Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems using net work or PC’s.

• Expert in AUTOCAD Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems using PC’s.

• Regular user of the Microsoft Windows 95 software for Word, Excel, Power Point, INTERNET, Etc.
